I just started Tibia. Does it not have any sound, or do I just have something set up incorrectly? I didn't see anything in the settings, but maybe I just looked past it.
I really like them both, but I think my favorite is LOTRO. I tend to play solo a lot and I think LOTRO works better for solo gaming. However, if I had a good group for DDO it might tip the scales. I imagine as a group game, DDO really rocks.
You have a point, but I was mostly referring to the fact that the reworked old zones and new class/race combos were advertised features of Cataclysm, but we got them without having to buy the expansion.
I'm super excited about this! I've been wanting to play a good pirate game for a while, but haven't found one I've liked very much. Now, I'll give this one a go.
Do you think that Blizzard will make the cost of entry any lower after Cataclysm comes out? I know that they don't really have to now, and probably still won't after the launch, but the cost for a brand new player is getting pretty steep.
If you get the Battle Chest you can get the original game and BC for $40, if they drop WOTLK to $20 then you're up to $60, and if you want to play a worgen or goblin then you're up to at least $100 not counting monthly fees! That's asking quite a lot for someone who's never played the game.
I suppose that they could re-release the Battle Chest with WOTLK, or not require it to install Cataclysm, which would help some, but I just wondered if you had any ideas about what they might do? Again, I realize that they don't have to do anything and they'll still make a fortune, but that seems like a pretty big deterrent for someone who might just now be thinking of starting.
Just FYI, Direct2Drive.com is selling Fallen Earth: Bloodsports for $6 this week. Didn't see anything about it on the site here, so figured I'd mention it.
This is the last thing I would have thought, but I'll probably end up spending them on an extra character slot. I tried a trial of this once before and had the most difficult time picking a class of any game I've played. They were all fun! I sense altaholism coming on, so I'm going to need some extra slots.
Hmmm, this is interesting. I hadn't really been following this, but I see why people are upset. I'm not a grinder by any stretch of the imagination, but I wouldn't want a game forcing artificial limits on how quickly I can progress.
Yes, there are other things to do in an MMO besides chasing for that next level, but there are days I feel like doing those things and days I feel like questing or killing stuff. If I've run out of my experience-gaining potential and I don't feel like spending my time crafting or whatever, then I'm probably going to play a different MMO that night.
It seems odd to me that any game company would implement a mechanic that would potentially drive players to a different game.
