This was linked to me by a male mmo counterpart, who asked my opinion. I am a female gamer who enjoys playing the big dps classes.
The first thing i quoted out of the article was the initial statement you all have picked up on. What a rather sexiest and biased statement. How dare they lump female gamers into the healers and buffers category. Maybe I am the minority female gamer of female gamers.
But then again, it is the inherent nature of the female (as much as we hate to admit it) to be nurturing, suggesting these support classes are more like females in general. I don't agree with the way they presented it, making assumptions that all females prefer to play support classes.
I sounds more like they are trying to attract females into the gaming industry, and for that I applaud them (I think). Just stop marketing it like this. Remember, we don't like to admit we are of the nurturing type.
