@ScottishViking Actually I have done what you call "ninja mine" someone else deadspace mission. I did it a few times because I was curious as to how it would turn out. There are a few snags.
First, if the missioner turns in the mission the area will disappear the moment you leave it. Having two accounts with a ship to mine and one to haul does make it a little more practical. Second, it is rarely possible to warp right the asteroid and it's not uncommon for rocks to be 45 to 85 kilometers away from the warp in point.
So yes, it has been done. Doing it is just a novelty, of course. There are many more practical way to access hidden rocks.
Long before Rioch started playing World of Warcraft, Dwarfs were modeled after Gimli, from the book Lord of The Rings (Yes Rioch, LOTR was originially a book). Back in those days, badass dwarfs were most often threatening to give enemies a taste of their axe.
Gun and mortar wielding dwarfs were inspired by the Warcraft RTS game. I have to admit that they are incredibly fun.
I actually forgot about this till saw your post. Even though I'm a DC fan, Captain America was one of my favorite heroes because of the way he used his shield. In every fantasy MMO I always look for the class that lets me do the shield bash. In WoW my favorite thing to do while gathering mats was remove my weapon then shield throw, punch, bash.
The game looks well made and I would even like to try it, but something makes me feel like a complete and total pervert at the thought of logging on to a world filled with kids like Butters and dancing pink haired girls when I don't have kids of my own.
Where are the 5 free days for former players to come visit Aion again?
Believe me, I really miss Atreia but before I go back I really need some evidence, any evidence, that NCSoft is doing business differently. I actually emailed them with that suggestion and even made a post in Aionsource. Maybe it's time I bumped that post again.
I really need NCSoft to give me something to believe in. Something other then more promises, cash shops, and concept videos of a far future Aion that has a favorite feature from every other MMO. It doesn't even have to be free days. A half priced first month return incentive, or even a Pepsi coupon would be enough to get me back.
Macro miners suspending operations? lol. Well yeah. You would think so. Not the case my friend.
I'm not even going to bother to give my personal testimony as to what happens. See and judge for yourself. The Hulkaggedon channel and killboard will be open to the public as always.
I promise though, ninty-nine percent of the time it is the ignorant who die. They knew the dangers when they subscribed and they should have damn well known the coming danger well before the start of Hulkaggendon. I have no pity for those who are uninformed because they are too busy playing Warcraft while their unattended Hulk mines 500 million ISK a day for them.
Did you say exploit ganking? lol. Okay, interesting opinion.
Why? Because I hate afk macro miners even more then I hate pirates. Macro miners flood the market and cost me more then ten days of Hulk docking. The event is just and fair because it is announced far in advance. I have seen the Hulkaggedon kill reports and the majority of victims are also scrub players. Scrubs who are not just foolish and/or ignorant enough to mine in a Hulk during this time, but are sadly skilled and fitted. I remember one Hulk that had a shield boost amplifier without even having a shield booster!
For me, I knew cluster space was disease and death when I subscribed, and I see this event as a necessary thinning of the herd.
I really do miss Aion and the beautiful world of Atreia. In fact, it's the same way I feel about my emotionally troubled ex-girlfriend. Both impossibly difficult to deal with but still very sexy. Both I might forgive if not for the lies and deception.
I do think the game may be better off with it's much smaller North American player base for now. That way it may be able to focus better on getting settled.
One day I hope we may even be able to be friends again.
