Captain's Log: One year of Star Trek Online
Feb 4th 2011 11:04PM (Massively)And yes, Dan you've been a breath of fresh air to Cryptic's flagship MMO. Keep up the great work.

Feb 1st 2011 9:19PM (Massively)SOE's Smedley talks platforms, sub fees, and DCUO post-release content
Jan 16th 2011 6:55AM (Massively)But, for those that just post hate...how can anyone judge a game unless they've taken the time to play it thoroughly? I mean we're talking serious hours and hours and hours of gameplay. (Read this as like in EQ back in the day and typing /play and found that you have spent 3 months of your life in front of the PC! That is NOWHERE near possible yet for DCUO including BETA). That would be time to give a serious review of any game.
Have you all explored every inch of Metropolis and Gotham? Have you done all of the missions in the game? Have you done all of the Alerts? Are you part of a League (guild)? Did you achieve level 30 on your main? Have you leveled up some alts so you can see the other powers and weapons available? Done all of the Wanted Posters? Done every single race course in the game? Done all of Booster Gold's tours? Collected every single "Glowy" (? markers found throughout the cities) Gathered all of the awesome suits and costume pieces? You've stopped by every Information marker and collected them all? You've collected every single one in under a week? Right....and I have some property I'd like to sell you in Siberia!
If you can honestly answer yes to EVERY single thing above, and you still can't find much to do in the game, then you might have a point. But I seriously SERIOUSLY doubt anyone has done all of that. If you have and are still not happy, you need to get a life away from the PC and / or PS3! Either that or have those cyborg implants removed! : )
This is meant to be a light take on things and I'm just trying to throw out some food for thought, and I mean some serious thought. This previous statement makes null and void any nerd-rage or trollish replies (if any) to follow. Hopefully anyone can see this in this light as being a food for thought post.
Peace out.
Massively exclusive: A chat with DCUO's Chris Cao, part two
Jan 16th 2011 6:27AM (Massively)Will DCUO need some expansions and updates? Yes! I hope SOE has an aggressive schedule and will keep us informed! I think Cryptic with STO is doing a great job at that (keeping players informed with a calendar of updates) and would like to see something similar from DCUO as well!

Night Avenger is running around Gotham City kicking some serious villains. What a feel this game has that CoX and CO just never managed to capture. That of a living city. Love how citizens scream and yell out for you to help out as you pass by.
Wall-crawling ftw with acrobatics!

Sep 29th 2010 4:27PM (Massively)The Daily Grind: Do server merges worry you?
Aug 4th 2010 12:58PM (Massively)I see EQII's case as being unique. With F2P they're going to build their player base, but on the other hand, they will probably have shells of empty P2P servers after the intro of F2P. I can't imagine players wanting to stay on empty P2P servers and they will either quit or go to the F2P servers w/ character transfers.
Oh well, whatever the reason, server mergers generally are not a good thing. Maybe in the short term as the populations swell, but over time those eventually drop as people leave the game as the Dev Teams do nothing to change the problems that lead to players leaving in the first place!
*sigh*
Star Trek Online adds more C-Store options and controversy [Update]
Jul 18th 2010 11:13PM (Massively)"Hey All,
That's right, you heard it here first!
Costume Slots have been temporarily removed from the C-Store while the developers modify the functionality to be Account Wide Purchases.
This change was made based on your feedback. We're very thankful to our users who took the time to post their thoughts on this topic, and definitely appreciate the passion that you have all shown!
Note: We will have a resolution for players who had already purchased Costume Slots on multiple characters. More details on that will be provided around the time that Costume Slots are re-launched in the C-Store."
So, this should make this article's point moot. At least Cryptic is listening when there's an outcry. Yes, it shouldn't happen in the first place, but at least it changed quickly!
