All I can say about SWTOR is..... Tabula Rasa but not as good...

It simply does not feel...nor look like Star Wars. It's boring and static... such a shame. That's my opinion anyway...

DDO improved with the Free 2 play system and has been a huge commercial success for Turbine...

Going Free 2 Play does not mean LotR is doing badly as a subscription game and I wish people would stop saying things like that cos it's just not true, it's doing quite well..has a good player base and could probably continue doing well for a while as a subscription based game.

It's the same for EQ2...people seam to think it's doing poorly for some reason...but when you look at active player figures from the servers you see a totally different story...EQ2 has over 2.5 million active accounts.... that's a huge number...sure it's not the 10 million mindless loot fiends of WoW or the 5 million chilled out dudes on Guild Wars... but it's still a great amount of people...

I think this latest move by Turbine is an effort to bring the two main games into a new serviceable future that everyone can access. The new system allows casual players to enjoy a great game...and make the odd 'cash' purchase, and it allows hardcore players to continue as they are and not loose out...

I think it's a great move and should add new life to LotR...nice work Turbine.

Guild Wars has bar far the best soundtrack ever...followed by Lord of the Rings then EQ2... :)

As far as I know the fiscal year for 2011 actually ends in March 2011...Fiscal year 2012 starts in April 2011...

So we'll probably still see the game in the physical year of 2011...just towards the end... probably 2nd quarter of the fiscal year 2012 which is actually the last quarter of the physical year 2011 :D

SWG Combat Upgrade...and the NGE patch... it has to be done...

Well..after working with Dave for 4 years on a couple of projects including Infinite Worlds which in turn became Horizons in the mid/late 90's I find it hard to believe what some people are saying. Sure he has his faults and sometimes I would have liked to slap him about.

But his work ethics and commitment were never questioned by me that's for sure...

I did not part ways with Dave glowing with praise...I got fired basically but that was my fault not his. I learned a great deal from those times and I owe part of my current success in the industry to Dave. I've been a senior artist now for a pretty successful studio for 8 years...thanks Dave for the push :D

I just can't see Dave doing some of the things he's accused of...it was not in his nature. He loves making games why would he mess all that up...

Anywho..there we go.

I guess when they say 'launch' they might mean open beta...that's sorta like a launch these days :) ... I mean, some games are still what I consider beta state even after they start charging you for them 'cough' warhammer 'cough' hehehe.

RTW has never said when APB would actually hit the shelves...only that they planned an Open beta in March with a possible June/July shelf date... :).

Retailers have listed it for March but this is entire guess work, probably based on the open beta but has no real basis in fact.
