SOE talks Everquest II's Freeport revamp

Nov 1st 2011 1:53PM (Massively)
@jimr9999us Unfortunately, their "less resources" shows in the poor quality of their updates. SOE hasn't released polished quality content in EQ2 for a long time now. Everything is buggy, not tested properly, and they have a habit of not listening to the testers feedback.

Have they fleshed out the PVE side at all with this update? I've stayed away because I was told PVP was pretty much required. I'd like to see them provide a PVE path without having to PVP to progress.

We, the children of Innoruuk, will rise again. Our dark Lord has instilled a hate within us, so great that all shall bow. Never turn your back on a Tier'dal.

The Road to Mordor: 10 reasons why LotRO is worth picking up over shiny new MMOs

Mar 5th 2010 4:21PM (Massively)
LOTRO is one of the mmos that I always wanted to like, but there are things about it that always get in the way.

The Graphics - Everyone seems to praise Lotro's graphics, and while I do find certain elements of the graphics very nice, there are a lot of elements that look terrible. Character models & animations are terrible, armor appearance is lacking (not terrible but not very nice either). There are a lot of world textures that look really bad, especially certain terrain textures. Also, I find the scale lacking. Things don't seem as big and grand as they should, which in Middle Earth, doesn't seem right. The movies really got the epic, large scale feel, and I wish Lotro had it too. On the bright side, Water, Shadows, and Sky look great.

The UI - The UI is ugly, and the skill button icons are TERRIBLE.

Combat - Combat is a mixed bag. I always felt it was lacking from the beginning, and when they did the revamp, I was let down. I noticed no difference in responsiveness

Overall, I've always wanted to love Lotro, for the lore, the feel, and the adventure. Things just didn't add up for me. =-/

You have got to be kidding right? Do you even know what you speak of before you open your big WoW fan boy mouth? EQ2 releases far more content then Blizzard does. Do your research before you spout off information that you know nothing about.

Funcom threatening to delete noob Age of Conan characters

Jan 11th 2010 2:06PM (Massively)
Wah Wah Wah.... this is all I hear.

If your account has been inactive for 7 MONTHS and your character(s) are under level 20, why would you care? This makes no sense to me. Besides, the 1-20 levels are the fastest in the game and again, if you haven't played in 7 months, is it really so awful to start over again?

Why does the MMO community have to be so whiny? There are far more important things in the world that deserve this type of vocal attention.

You can still start! Leveling to cap is not hard and can be done quickly if that is your focus. However, the journey is great. Find a nice guild and you can still get a ton of enjoyment out of this game.
