EA proclaims SWTOR preorder breaks records

Jul 27th 2011 2:07PM (Massively)
EA explained the EPS range of $0.70 to $0.90 as being determined most by whether or not SW:TOR launches in Q3 or Q4 (fiscal, not calendar; i.e. holiday 2011 or Q1 2012).

So if $0.20 EPS comes from launch and there are 331,350,000 shares... that's $66,270,000 in earnings from initial purchases and subs.

If the "average" user pays $100 for his copy of the game and a 3-month subscription, that's about 662,700 expected subscribers in Q3 (holiday 2011).

Anyone else want to take a stab at it?

@Darkmoone No, you are not reading that right. The figures they are giving for past revenue are through June 30, 2011, which did not include the SW:TOR pre-orders. The figures they are giving for future revenue include revised estimates due to the Popcap merger.

You really can't determine any specific numbers about SW:TOR from this information.

It was fun enough during beta, but there's no way I can justify $15 to my wife every month when we're barely scraping by paycheck to paycheck.

Especially when I'm still getting mileage out of my Lifetime (Founder / pre-launch) LOTRO subscription.
