Drawing you in, one freemium at a time

Jul 15th 2009 10:39PM (Massively)
once you hit the levels 20 and above, you really dont have missions left that are easily accomplished AT ALL, so the most you can get is like 7 Valor pionts a game. 1 top bandage cost like 5 vps, so if you use 1 bandage, 1 wrench in the game ( 5 vps), you are now using them faster than you get them. Plus you have to buy weapons and so forth with Valor points.

Dice isnt stupid, if you dont want to be at a disadvantage you have to spend some money.

Sure Soldiers dont need bandaids, but commandoes sure do, and we are made to use them even to stop stupid skills like Burning bullets.

There are no free lunches in life.

BF Heroes while it is free to play, they make it hard now to get enough valor points to be able to buy band aids ( heals), wrenches( repair vehicles), weapon purchases. etc etc . If you want to get all these things, along with such clothing options as crazy clothing etc, you DO have to buy Battlefunds.

So sure you can play for free, be you will be at a disadvantage because you simply cant afford the good band aids, wrenches, etc ( you can BUY skills that allow you to get Valor pionts at a 200% rate, which you need if you wish to have all the best bandages/wrenches)

I have well over 1200 games of BFH under my belt so I know what I am talking about.

The game is fun and well done, but it seriously lacks content. 4 maps is just not nearly enough.

Why would he look at people working together to point out that a society is NOT just LAWS made by the GOVERNMENT (developers), but by the people that LIVE in the society! It's really fascinating stuff

Not once did they ever say they were going to compete on a high leve with WoW.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

HUh? yes they did all the time. The often said if WOW was a band, they are the Beatles, and War was Led Zepplin. The compared themselves during development quite often. Of late, of course not, WARhammer is failing to meet expectations pretty spectacularly. Played the game for way to long, and I agree, city sieges are terrible and are way to PVE.

GDC09: Raph Koster kicks off Worlds in Motion Summit

LOL, did you even read that article. He confirms what I said, he even admits it

"A large chunk of the blame lies with me"

The game sucked from the get go, it was a design mess. Maybe you should actually read the articles before you link and dispute things.

Oh save the Koster praise, he was behind the mess that was SWG. That game was a disaster from early beta on.

Time have changed, this aint 1999. Gold farmers will have a great time with this game. With the huge time requirements needed for resources gatering, taht will create a real market to sell resources for real money.

Plus gold afrmers can just cretae their own professional gank squads to kill players and loot em. Players then have to start over again.

What a great commercial environment, you get to sell somebody something, and then you can gank em and take it away form them.

Dont think it will happen? why not, in this economy? this si real money that we are talking about. Gold farming is a multi million dollar business.

Darkfall is a godsend for them.

The Daily Grind: What if everyone turned over server logs?

Feb 17th 2009 12:22PM (Massively)
JP- lost touch? hmm. This ( chat selling) has just started so how can there be precedent? Let say as a divorce attorney why wouldnt I wish to purchase data containing a chat log if available? Would most likely be 25 bucks or so. I can get your social security number, and vital statistics for less than that. So say my paralegal looks through the logs and fionds something on the chat log may confirm a suspicion. Which may lead to a settlement for my client which could be six figures or higher? You still think this wouldnt be worth anything to anyone?

You still think this won't happen. Information is very valuable. Having a fully unguarded transcipt of someone while playing their hobby could be very valuable.

You people who think you have to be doing something "illegal" to get in trouble or so missing the point here.

Oh by the way, JP, insurance industry already does what I mentioned above everyday. Peole make six figures finding ways to deny people benefits EVERYDAY. Information=money.
