Why would Codemasters lose out by going F2P? If the success of DDO and the influx of new US LOTRO players is anything to go by, Codemasters would be getting far more money in the cash store than they are getting from subscriptions.
The only thing that would change that is if Turbine demands a larger percentage or license fee from Codemasters.
One server type that is sadly missing these days is the FFA-PvP server where there are no pre-made factions, and only inter-guild diplomacy determine who you are at war with and who you can stand peacefully next to.
No it doesn't. Unless your experiences and the time you spent doing it was only done in order to be able to feel superior to others, nothing can take those experiences away from you.
Did you have fun completing those tasks? Did you feel great when you acomplished those things? I sure hope you did, because otherwise it really was a waste of time.
No one can take away good experiences you've already had.
Actually, The Secret World is going to be Funcom's 3rd dismal failure. Anarchy Online and Age of Conan shows their aproach to game development quite well.
There simple isn't a single good reason to believe that Funcom has the know-how or skills to put out a well-polished and working MMO. Their financials are so bad in the red after AoC's failure that its unlikely they can afford to hold off the TSW's launch until its actually ready for it. So, like their two previous MMO's, it will be published before its close to being ready for it, and half the promised features will be cut or simply missing.

Yeah, like when they lie blatantly about the features of their game. It's not really a lie, but simply "blurring the line between fiction and reality".
That is a pretty stupid statement, since in this case Blizzard is on control of the weather. Their balacing is actually what determines the weather tomorrow.
