With the current state of the economy, I would enjoy having a one-year subscription for my guild. As it stands, our guild site, is nearly maxed out on modules available (49/50), due to upcoming guides for flashpoints and operations.
Come April, our guild website will have to downsize, causing us to remove many of these pages.
LOTRO has had this system in place for a very long time, maybe even since release. I know because I was a second in command there and our guild leader quit playing, though many in our guild quit playing. When I logged back on many months later I was greeted with a message that said "Your guild leader has been inactive, would you like to take command of your guild."
There isn't anything revolutionary going on here. They are just doing this to take some work off of their Game Masters from petitions about transferring leadership.
When I complete my journey in WoW, I will return the beginning. I began in the hills of Mulgore, and that is where I will end my journey... which will come around December 20. :-)
I did enjoy attunements, especially when doing it with members from my guild where it brought us together for doing them and working on team work prior to raiding.
The Onyxia chain was fun, the Karazhan and beyond chains were as well. This was, of course, prior to the emphasis on item level. Now instances are gated off based on a players average item level, not for completing a quest.
That's probably more because with it being F2P, it would get completely flooded. I haven't done the Foundry, as I quit playing the game after around 2 months after launch, but may load it back up when it goes F2P just to see how it is going.
