I'd have to pick the planet Foreas in Tabula Rasa. It had a great blend of both nature & future technology. I'd probably prefer Cumbria (at least before the Bane torched it), otherwise I could hang out & listen to the PA announcements at Foreas Base all day.
Ah yes, that was a great improvement, especially when you just needed one person in your squad to go to where the group needed to be & drop a squad waypoint for everyone.
But I'm saddened that the game's been gone so long now that I'm starting to forget if this was just on the public test server, or if it came out with the last give-everything-away patch before shut down... But I'd say that what was best was the Prestige points & the purchasable skill respec tokens with those points. If you ever wanted to change the way the skills of your class were configured, you just needed to earn enough points & rebuild them, and not have to build a whole new toon. That was awesome.
Ah yes, we were very good at standing in lines in TR (or even forming a circle and/or staying out of the ring for Friday Night Fights, etc).
Maybe that's something to be said about small server populations where everyone has a shared camaraderie. Or maybe the game just earned that much of our respect.
Well, I'd probably pick the Tell Me Ensemble because, in the voice of Raj from Big Bang Theory: "it would make my character feel pretty" :)
Plus since I returned for the recent free reactivation time after over a year of inactivity from Aion & MMOs, it would give me a really good reason to get back into the MMO waters.
And I was about to complain about the lack of TR love, when I saw the bonus note pointing to my own video that I was going to offer up as an example :) (@1:15 you can see the pole dance emote which was obviously a dev-only dance... until the game was in its last few months & they released it as an item drop :D)
"...decided on Jedi between the two as I'm much more used to melee-based characters..."
I was going to say that that doesn't really matter: that you can be a melee Bounty Hunter (when they first rolled out NGE & the default control was FPS-point-at-what-you-want-to-shoot-like, I completely preferred melee with my BH because it was so much easier to hit your target when you were right on top of them)... but then I remembered that when they added the expertise system, that BHs got bonuses only for ranged weapons.
And yeah, when I last played, the Legacy quest chain (is it still the only quest chain in the game?) was the best way to level.
Although, I would first highly recommend doing what me & my brother did when we first started SWG... open up your datapad on Tatooine, turn on all the Points of Interest waypoints, and then hop in your speeder & start exploring (yes, driving there instead of shuttles to experience the countryside & random shanty towns)... our first stop was R2-D2 & C-3PO's escape pod (also my first screenshot http://www.divshare.com/download/12003935-974) and right near by there is the krayt skeleton. Ah, memories.
But didn't Volition release the FreeSpace 2 source code? How come no one's yet taken that & converted it into an MMO? I'd be an instant subscriber. With any luck this game will be just what I'm looking for.
"You're not setting a course for an asteroid and going to grab a sandwich." -- great EVE description! :)
But that's just who I think this game's target audience will/should be... not current EVE players, but players who don't a space MMO and don't want EVE (hell, I've given EVE three different trial periods and I still have no interest in it).
But yeah, still the lack of info still leaves it as a toss up between this and Black Prophecy
Reminds me of Tabula Rasa... except I hope that, unlike NCsoft, they actually give it more than a year for it to catch on, because this is a type of game I'm really looking forward to.

Whatever it was, I sure do miss it.
