I haven't posted here for a very long time, but reading this news elsewhere I just had to stop by and wish you all the very best Sera.
It's definitely a sad day for Massively and I have no doubt that you'll be sorely missed here.
But what a fantastic opportunity for you, and for Turbine as well who gain a hugely passionate and intelligent soul. I sincerely believe you'll be a fantastic addition to the Turbine community team, and I'm sure you'll make a difference over there simply by your very nature.
Congratulations. You absolutely deserve to go on to greater things and soar.. =)
Gandalf stood on the rocky precipice, high above the flaming chasm below, the Balrog turning towards him.
The great wizard paused for a moment, then slammed his staff into the ground shouting "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"
The Fellowship, watching from safety behind, observed as the Balrog appeared to reach into it's back pocket and produce a Tablet Of Visa.
Gandalf extended his staff to take hold of the sacred Tablet, before materialising a strange device that appeared to accept the Tablet, causing the device to flash green.
With a seemingly regretful glance behind him towards the Fellowship, Gandalf stepped to one side of the rocky ledge before raising his hands and shouting "YOU MAY PASS!"...
-----------------
A young adventurer stumbled across the home of Tom Bombadil. "Hi diddly-ho young hero!"
The young man couldn't believe his eyes - who was this strange, cheery figure? "Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow, Bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow. None have ever caught him yet, for Tom, he is the master: His songs are stronger songs, and his feet are faster."
After listening to more songs from Tom, the adventure continued.. "..so I need you to help me get to The Great Barrows, then?"
"Ahhh - why yes-diddly-ess you do-iddly-oo!" "HOWEVER.."
"..however? However what?"
"Eldest, that's what I am...Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn...he knew the dark under the stars when it was fearless — before the Dark Eye of Warner came from Outside.."
"Pardon?" asked the young man, clearly confused.
Tom leaned in close to the adventurer's ear and whispered: "Look, sorry mate, but things just haven't been the same since the Eye of Warner came along.. um I'm gonna have to ask you to go see my wifr Goldigger - she's by the water's edge at the northern border of the Old Forest."
"What?"
"Just go see Goldigger ok? She's got a Bucket Of Cash. You'll need to help her fill it up.. a Tablet of Visa should suffice.. once you've accomplished that task, then.."
Tom ran to the middle of the room, breaking into dance before shouting:
"..then Tom-diddly-om will be able guide-diddly-ide you to The Great Barrow!" -----------------
It takes a 'special' sort of person to be at odds with themselves over the course of 10 questions though..
"Our combat system equals not having to remember which skill to hit" to "Our combat system requires players to remember which skills to use" in less than 5 questions.
As he was when he would speak about Aion, Brian Knox is the master of answering any and all questions with absolutely no substance or sense, and in complete PR-bs-format.
This Q&A is a perfect example of that. For instance on Page1 he states:
"TERA’s combat system doesn’t have separate skills around the edge of the screen that a player has to remember to hit depending on each combat scenario. We’ve streamlined the skill system to allow the player’s own skill to take over"
..only to then state on Page2:
"Players will need to remember their encounters with different types of creatures and then plan their strategies, actions, and formations accordingly."
Plus statements such as "Each battle feels unique--no two encounters play out the same way" are just purely laudable.
In case some of you aren't aware, if you go into the 'Escape from Durnholde' instance in the Caverns of Time and travel to the Southshore Inn, you can observe the very meeting where the idea of making Ashbringer itself was discussed.
