I tried the game a week ago and I found it lacking. It's pretty, but the animations and content are just meh. X_X Also, why am I still 'unverified' as a username rather than the one I seemingly keep choosing at login?

The part of the article covering skills is wrong in one aspect: if you don't have the skill to fit X module, then you can't do Y thing that X module provides. Be it a warp scrambler, armor repairer, or signal booster. If you haven't trained the skill for the first level, then you're often at a disadvantage. Also, skills that support fittings, capacitor, and EHP (shield and armor) are *important*, and to not train them is suicide in any situation in Eve. So, sorry, author, having players focus on support skills for their first month while farming for ISK in missions, ratting, and/or exploration is a good thing. It gets them use to figuring out what ships do what best and it gives them more flexible fittings (them pesky support skills), and above all it gives them a cache of ISK to learn from mistakes in PVE and PVP.

I'm not sure why developers think everyone has to feel epic or be epic, but I don't like it myself. I prefer to be part of a world that I didn't create, being forced to make a reputation for myself instead of being forced to follow a narrative where I'm the messiah of the entire game world. It's retarded, seriously. That's why I love fallout series, even the Bethesda made ones. I never feel like I am the ONE even in fallout 2. I feel like I'm exploring and carving out my own story instead. Only if MMO developers would take a hint from the influx of exploration/experimentation driven games that are selling like hotcakes on all platforms as to what they should put into their titles. But that's wishful thinking, I guess.

I hope they add more zones since I think the whole active schedule of events didn't keep me past two months. It is a pretty game, it has some some parts to it, but most of the game is just like the rest of the theme parks. One path, one resolution, always.

@real65rcncom Well, I don't like Rift myself, but your constant trolling the fanboys is rather annoying. If you don't like them, then deal with it in a productive manner. Claiming the company is underwater without proof is libel and it *can* get you in trouble online. Just sayin'.
