Really interesting- but is this really only available for XBL Gold Members? Why wouldn't they give XBL silver members the option to pay per view this like they do with other tv, and movies?
1) I don't need a radio in my phone- I understand some phone manufacturers might want to put one in and advertise that as a feature, but I think it would be bizarre to force all manufacturers and users to use radio.
2) I don't understand why this is on wallet pop. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with finance, which is what I subscribe to this RSS feed for.
Exactly, this is some calculated useless PR gesture bullshit right here. Most users bought the 2 year contract with around a 90 dollar plan. My plan comes out to 105 actually, but that's with taxes, so they must be using a pre-tax amount to calculate eligibility. From the anecdotes, this only affects people who bought crazy minutes or the horribly unusable international plan.
So some guy at AT&T put together an Excel spreadsheet and calculated that they could put this in, and they'd only lose like the revenues from like 50 upgrades or something ridiculously low, and still they could get a ton of good PR from all the web logs and crap.
This was a strange article. It's not like the hackintosh is advertising anything beyond it's capacity. If you can't fit your apps in a 16GB hard drive, you should buy a 32 GB hard drive... It's very easy to see what you'll need ahead of time.
Yes, the computer doesn't have multi-touch. Yes the keyboard is terrible. If you can't live with either of those, don't get this computer.
As it is, for browsing my google reader, IMming friends, and using Skype on trips, I think the Dell Mini 9 has completely exceeded my expectations as a 400 dollar mac notebook.
