pretty sure champions online your damage would go down if you were not upgrading equipment as you leveled up, i forget exactly why but it was something to do with superstats+capped bonuses for each level.
the moba, after having played WAR and being able to customize my character while playing the exact same maps, was a huge let down to me (and believe me i played a SHITTON of scenarios during my time in WAR)
3 teams does not make things instantly better no matter what the DAOC people say.
WAR was a good game at launch...it just never progressed past its launch state to fix the problems it did have and to create new content to keep people interested
i don't think he was talking about WAR tbh, the free to play push for games came well after that was released.
I played WAR for about a year, i found the classes to be fun to play and honestly found the PVE aspect of it entertaining, if only a bit more resources were devoted to it. RVR parts were good, until max level (tier4) where everyone had AOE CC and infinite sustain via fully specced healers.
I think that Devs should consider input from community reps; however they do need to remain aware (i'm sure they are) that community reps only represent the vocal minority of the community (the ones that participate in the forums) and not alienate the silent majority while trying to put a gag on the ones that are the loudest.
also community reps can also end up having their own input/views filter out good suggestions because its something they don't find appealing.
more than anything i think players would care much less about what isn't in the game, if developers were more transparent about what is coming soon.
This is the general rundown of how Community reps work: post1: "Ok guys the devs have asked what our biggest concerns are, lets gather up our ideas and we can vote on the best ones" post2: "great list guys, i think we've got what we want nailed down" post3: "Ok submitted to devs" end of thread
there is never a public dev response to any of the ideas and rarely do you ever see a "so about those features you guys wanted" post.
Feedback about what's come of the suggestions and what's on the way would go a long way to make Community Reps actually matter...until then i honestly think most devs are out of touch with the wants of the players.
