The Daily Grind: Favorite activity to do at the same time as MMOing?

Sep 29th 2009 5:16AM (Massively)
How the...
Amazing if you people can do all that at the same time! And watching two movies, while petting a cat and writing here... You gotta use your toes too?

I'm chatting on MSN and reading forum, maybe surfing a bit. Listening to music sometimes too. But many times that i log in, i want to get into games world. Might be that i don't even listen to in-game music. Just that clip-clop from your horse and "Raaa!" from your enemies =D

But sometimes it's just fun to listen to music, have some beer and hang around in Guild Chat or some other Channel.

Craig Morrison discusses Age of Conan's improvements and future

Mr Angry,

Thanks for your reply, no flaming there!
I must admit, that i got a bit defensive for the flame i was reading.
But as i mentioned earlier, if you like a game, you like it, if not then not.
It's like growing a plant, if you're interested, you'll see it develop. If not, you won't see any change, it's another failed reason to stay home during a saturday night =p

I see your point in the marketing stuff, it is in a "see for yourself" way. Well, i can only say for the re-evaluation stuff, i haven't looked at how they try to attract Trial players.

All in all, i'm still sticking to an argument "Some like some, some don't". The game won't change from what it is, it will just develope wurther. But i'm pretty sure you know what i mean :)

I'm sorry that i can't address stuff improved in a list, as i can't remember how it was year ago.

There's no more walls than any other MMO has. There just isn't an MMO that would let you go anywhere. The game has gone much further during this year, i haven't had a broken quest in AGES. Everything is working, what i've faced.

I haven't run out of stuff to do and yet there is so much i haven't even looked at yet! The game is one year old, you can't simply compare end-game to a game that's been running for some years. Soon they are giving information about the next update, they have been giving more content all the way.

What comes to "you need a powerful machine to run it", i'm playing AoC on a:
AMD s939 3200+
2Gb 400Mhz DDR RAM
Radeon HD4850 512Mb
I used to play it with a Radeon 850XT.
So you can play it without all maxed out. I haven't OC'd my PC. You don't say that a game sucks if you can't play it with full detail on. You usually want to buy a better PC.

If a game doesn't fit you, then it's not the games fault. It's nobody's fault. WoW never got to me, neither did WAR. Lotro gave me a lot of fun, but AoC is the one that got me going on. Community in AoC is good, it's not full of that "noob, pwn" stuff. Well some might like it.

So don't say it hasn't improved, if you've already made your decision before even trying it again. And don't say it hasn't improved, if you just don't like the game.
Cheers! =)

The Daily Grind: Would you craft more if it didn't bore you?

Feb 12th 2009 9:09AM (Massively)
Think i wouldn't go just crafting. Well you can't go in AoC or in Lotro. You have to progress levels to be able to rise in your profession.

So this side of professions, to make money and get power with it, isn't a real option. I would give crafting more credit, if it would be more intresting and truly offer more possibilities.

The Daily Grind: Your craziest idea for an MMO?

Jan 22nd 2009 3:07AM (Massively)
Good ideas already and the one i had in mind too.

1) Cyberpunk MMO! This would be fantastic. There's hardly any Cyberpunkish games around, Fallout 3 doesn't quite fall in to that category. And imagine if it would allow some of the endless options that Pen & Paper versions always has. When creativity is the limit...

2) Vampire the Masquerade, done by CCP? This sounds promising! At least Eve is very 'open', it gives lots of opportunies. Would like to see how this goes...

The Daily Grind: What do you want for Age of Conan in '09?

Jan 11th 2009 7:05AM (Massively)
Jordan23 and Badman, you had great ideas!
Alarie also had a very good idea about sea fighting. Hey, there is piratism right?

For these ideas seen here, i really think there should be players taking part on how this game builds up. Of course there are forums, but they tend to be more in a "if we hear" way.

I hope AoC gets people back, at least i know some who have been talking about maybe coming and taking a look. Might a good idea to offer a 10-day come back period for old subscribers.

And as someone said, i hope the game is there in the end of the year! =)

First Age of Conan server merge successful

Grats for Bloodspireans and Hyperboreans!

Eagerly waiting for my server to merge too, for the population is a bit of an issue.

Let the population come!

The Daily Grind: Would you like to see more lifetime subscriptions?

Jan 7th 2009 12:07PM (Massively)
I think it should be an option. If someone wants it, give it!

I think i wouldn't go with that. As it is said here, RL situations sometimes cause long periods of not playing.

Player perception seemingly shifting in Age of Conan

Jan 7th 2009 12:03PM (Massively)
Just resubscribed today, thou haven't had enough time to see the changes. But i would have relogged anyway, 'cause i've liked the game from the start.

I think if you say that AoC is dull and repeting last 60 levels, there's not much difference to other MMO's. This game is easy to be angry to, for being disappointed at the release and it's also easy to blame on forums, there's always supporters for that action.

And what comes to what the box told, i don't think there's so much that isn't there. And anyway, i know a pile of games that told they are 'exitement for hours', eventhou i uninstalled them in 15 minutes...

Ok, the last one was with a *wink* =D
