I don't see a Beta soon either at least not before 2 years and my bet is EnMasse might be the lucky winner because their goal is to bring the best Eastern MMO to the West. The timing would be perfect, one year after TERA's launch they start working on AA with XLgames for a year and then launch it on the western market.
Nowadays MMOs have been converted into a solo walk from beginning to max level but where it hurts is that most players have been playing solo for so long that they don't know how to play/interact their classes with others in group play.
I"m not against solo play but game developers should encourage players to group by getting more xp and reaching goals faster than playing solo.GW2 is doing it right same with TERA with their BAMs.
Strain ,Wyatt and O'brien left Blizzard because they didn't like what Blizzard was turning into. All three of them have been credited to have taken a huge part in making Blizzard success,Warcraft,Starcraft and Diablo and they did invent Battlenet.
So even if Strain and Wyatt(TERA) left for other challengers ArenaNet (and funcom) is the only company that still have the luxury to build the game that they want and GW2 is the proof.
Vivendi killed the developement of D3 when it was under Blizzard North department because they were already greedy then so I would assume that they are worst now.
It's sad to see a great company which made some of the most successful games slowly becoming a shadow of itself because of some white collars.
The Blizzard you are referring to is longtime gone. And it would be ironic if this is true when you know why Stain,O'brien and Wyatt left Blizzard back in the day. It's no surprise to see a product like GW2 hitting the market because those guys have been like 8 years ahead of the industry.
