'Avatar' and the Death of Storytelling

Jan 27th 2010 12:58AM (Cinematical)
Don't compare this to Star Wars. SW had a small budget and Lucas was puting everything he had on the line to make the movie while Avatar was an example of throwing boat loads of money at a horrible script and people ooohing and ahhhing about the graphics. What a shame. I agree the support this movie is getting is ushering in an age of crap plots and crap acting.

'Avatar' and the Death of Storytelling

Jan 27th 2010 12:54AM (Cinematical)
The movie had horrible dialog. Once upon a time before effects movies had to have a good story and dialog. star wars was epic because of the story and the setting. Avatar is just good visuals and everyone online is calling it "dances with wolves part two".

Avatar is a shiat movie and the worst part is that it's doing well with the sheeple so Cameron will get so many movie deals and screenplays to wipe his butt with.

Behind the Curtain: Why we play World of Warcraft

Nov 17th 2008 11:36PM (Massively)
WoW doesn't have great graphics. The graphics suck, it's 4 years old and it is really starting to show. Within the next year or so WoW will have a huge drop off and go into fast decline like every MMO does after 4-5 years of popularity. It's not even the most popular MMO. The most popular MMO titles go to Runescape and Second life, not that WoW is much better then either of those other two games. WoW was great back in its hay day, but sadly things never last forever.

What Warhammer patch 1.05 means for you

Wow Mythic, the two classes (BW and Sorc) that needed to get nerfed got buffed up instead and at the same time you nerf heals? So much for melee getting a chance to do something other then die in RvR.

Patch 1.05 = fail

Warhammer Online director expects three million subscribers

Warhammer is so far ahead of WoW in every aspect. Expect this game to surpass WoW in a year or two as people switch out of the stale WoW and WoW's lackluster PvP and total lack of world changing RvR.

The Daily Grind: It's expansion season!

I wish I had taken Mythic's advice before I had bought AoC, biggest waste of 50 bucks in my life

The Daily Grind: What's a good player retention level?

Sep 10th 2008 11:46AM (Massively)
Well said KingJames... I can't imagine that Funcom's numbers are very accurate. I'm guessing conservatively that they retained maybe 10-15% of the people who purchased the game. Out of the 20 or so people that I started that game with 2 are still playing, and even they are frustrated with the game.

Great pod cast, always enjoy taking a few minutes to sit down and listen to your casts.

Bah enough of WoW, lets hear more about WAAAGH!

So what's all the fuss about Gems in Age of Conan?

Aug 19th 2008 6:54PM (Massively)
Doesn't really matter because funcom has dropped the ball so hard that no one is playing AoC anymore anyways

Blizzard: Yes, some players left for AoC

I hope that War kills WoW off in the us, WoW is stale, old and boring and AoC seems to be a total flop.
