The Daily Grind: Champions Online launch day edition

Sep 1st 2009 1:52PM (Massively)
reply FAIL, Pstorm.

How am I out of line? Do you know my experience w/ the game, or b/c I don't agree w/ your opinion of it, it makes me out of line?

The game made some head way at the end of OB. Now, I have no clue, but it's funny that Cyrptic made such a dipshit, ass hat move on launch day.

I will say this: the MTs in the store right now, while fluff, are exclusive. Pointless shit I'd never pay for, but exclusive none the less.

LOL. 11 pages of complaints 3 hours after the game goes live. GG Cryptic. See you in the bargin bin, losers.

So... on your launch day, you announce the first expansion/update to the game? New content is never bad... but to announce it on launch day? Desperation: she is a stinky whore.

Could you tell us what level your max charcter is?
How active you are in game (hours per week)?
What server and realm are playing on?

Everyone's experience is different. Mine was being a semi-hardcore player that got frustrated w/ all the problems (that have been listed over and over) and decided their shortcomings aren't worth my $15.

"His family didn't forget, and 20 hours later, they're going to come after you"

Ok, it's compeltely dependent on implementation. B/c we've heard "choices matter" from every developer so far, and they've all failed to deliver anything truely meaningful... but this just sounds fantastic.

We've seen/read about the differnt ending in the flashpoint, which was pretty cool. I'm hoping it transitions even further in more of the game.

So very looking forward this. My kid better set world records for learning to wipe it's own ass when this game comes out!!

LOL. WoW clone? If ANYTHING it’s an EQ clone. It’s about x1000 times more intuitive then WoW could ever hope to be. It’s also about that much better looking then WoW. Shit, I could shove paint up my ass and fart out better looking graphics then WoW.

OT :

I played the trial about 3 months ago as well. The things that killed it for me was that I felt it was a little to daunting w/ SO many systems and stats, and I felt very very alone in the world. But overall, it’s a gorgeous and deep game.

The only bug I ran across was connecting to the authorization server through Station was a PITA quite a lot.

Oi vey. Darkstryke is right. It's time to shift teams around and focus 100% on improvement.

While their conent team sure can pump it out, it's to bad it's followed by a design, infrastructure and QA that isn't good at all.

Alpha and beta status updates on DC Universe Online

Aug 28th 2009 12:26PM (Massively)
Man, is it DC's modus operandi to be two steps behind with everything game related or what?

I'm not against this game. Matter of fact I prefer the DCU over Marvel, but man... CO comes out Tues, CoH is releasing I16 (and the much coveted Power Cust) and their retail box (arguably) in the next year... and DC expects to do what?

Compete w/ TOR when it comes out? Any and all established players of any Superhero MMO will be gobbled up.

What can they expect to offer over either of those titles, or TOR, other then playing w/ Batman and Supes? I’m asking this honestly. Nothing about that game has screamed “revolutionary” to me at all. Even the alpha videos they’ve shown are lackluster and ugly IMO.

Choosing SOE was their first mistake. Giving a green light to SOE on older tech & engines to create it was their second. Not cancelling the project months ago was their third.

DC seriously gets over zealous w/ video games. Batman: Arkyum Asylum looks … LOOKS… good, but I can't name another DC game that was worth the '$10 and under" tag I paid for it.

Rumor: The Old Republic to have player housing?

Really cool idea, if fleshed out well. Should create more of an emotional attachment for players to their characters.
