DC Universe Online sets pricing and new launch date

Dec 21st 2010 5:10PM (Massively)
After spending hundreds of hours in the beta and "leveling" mutiple characters to 30, I had steam reimburse me for a canceled pre-order.

We'll see a flurry of disatisfaction well before the free month of DCUO is finished. DCUO is absolutely not ready for release. And certainly nothing is in game which would keep a customer beyond the initial thrills and spills.

Virtually no end-game content.

Hands-on with SWTOR's Jedi Knight on Tython

I hope they offer a lifetime subscription for this. Excellent piece of writing. Descriptive and entertaining.

Updated: On the first day of giveaways, Turbine gave to me...

LotRO is my favourite. Ever since reading Tolkien, I have been fascinated with Arda and Middle-earth. The depth of richness which is developed within a mythological landscape has enabled me to explore aspects of my personality with a greater degree of understanding.

The Daily Grind: Want a box with that?

Oct 24th 2010 8:39AM (Massively)
I prefer digital distribution since I was in the habit of destroying games when I realised I had/have an addictive nature. In order to prevent me from playing them again. Of ocurse, that didn't always work in my favour, since I just bought another box. At least digital distribution saves me money. lol

That game collection displayed in the photo is positively MASSIVE (massively speaking).

The Daily Grind: What's the coolest place you've ever found while exploring?

The first really neat area was in SWG during the beta. I found a glitch which allowed me to enter ta compund only to find Darth Vader and his master the evil emporer.

New DC Universe video shows beta combat footage

Oct 5th 2010 6:45PM (Massively)
As someone who was (past tense) looking forward to DCUO, this beta combat clip was both disappointing and ugly.

On the bright side, if SWTOR & GW2 are released around the same time, then DCUO is going to take a huge hit. And not in a good way.

Go for the gold: Win a 30 day gold subscription to EverQuest II Extended

Already playing EQ II Extended. If winning a code, I would be able to try whats avaible at the higher tiers and possibly motivate me to upgrade upon expiration.

The Daily Grind: Do you wait for reviews?

Sep 25th 2010 3:05PM (Massively)
I usually throw caution to the wind and jump right in just before release day, by virtue of having preordered. Unfortunately, my experience in the first few months falls short of my expectations.

That is not to say I don't read reviews. I do. They tend to give a general sense of where the game stands at the time. When Ia reveiw forcuses on a beta which I am participating in, the reveiw is either spot on or disregarded.

I am expecting a lot from SWTOR, GW2, and DCUO. The last, despite the hand of Chris in the pudding. Hard to forget what he did to SWG.
