The Guild Counsel: Are you ready to lead a guild?

Mar 22nd 2012 10:38PM (Massively)
I don't have anything to say about the article, other than.... Does anyone else think the dude in the pic for this article look like the sarge in the old Gomer Pyle show? HA!

ArenaNet announces 48-hour beta signup for Guild Wars 2

@thead64 Both - you have to start with the Scannertron, then it submits your sys specs to them. Then you're redirected to a form on their site, where you submit your email and other info. It all worked great for me, but I have not yet received any reply or confirmation emails :(

ArenaNet announces 48-hour beta signup for Guild Wars 2

Feb 22nd 2012 3:01PM (Massively)
I was able to submit everything, after submitting the form, it said to keep an eye out for a confirmation email, but haven't gotten any confirmation back. I did get a second email from 'The Guild Wars 2 Team' - same one I had gotten before, inviting to sign up. So I wondered if the first time didn't go through (system overload perhaps). So, I tried again - submitted the DXDiag via the tool, then filled out the form I was redirected to. This time it said that email address had already been signed up for a Guild Wars 2 Beta account. So, I guess I just need to wait now! *twiddling thumbs anxiously*

[Updated] Guild Wars 2 Charr plushies on sale now, but you can win one free from Massively!

Sep 9th 2011 2:00PM (Massively)
I should win because I need a new sidekick beast. Yes, it's sad to say, but - well, Battlecat and I aren't working out any more. He is old now, and he has started peeing all over the castle. In fact, I think he's doing it more now as Battlecat than as Cringer. I know, weird, right? But it's true. I've considered getting him some 'undergarments' for the elderly, but I don't think they make them for felines. So, I think I'm going to send him to a special place where he can live out the rest of his days playing cards and flirting with the young lady felines (don't say 'zoo' around him, he will just pee on your shoes).

So, it's about time I find another beast I can trust for those times when I just gotta have the power, ya know? If Charrlie lives up to his hype, he could proudly carry "The Most Powerful Man In The Universe" into glorious battle. Or at least through the drive-through when I just need "The Power" - those darn Chik-fil-A sandwiches are so good! (Don't tell anyone, but it has nothing to do with me raising my sword up in the air and yelling and such... that's just how rejuvenated I feel after a good chicken sandwich, ya know?!)

Come on, Charrlie! Let's get you practiced up on your morphing skills!!!! I just hope you are housebroken.....

Exclusive: Smedley on the sunsetting of Star Wars Galaxies [Updated]

Jun 24th 2011 6:03PM (Massively)
Wow. Pretty lame. They're assuming that ALL SWG players are going to want to play Knights. Sure, it looks like a good game - but it is different enough that I think they could keep it going for a long time. Maybe pull some focus and resources off of it while you see how well it does post- Knights release - but to just shut 'er down? Dang, that's silly. There are so many carbon copy games out there right now, all surviving ok as F2P titles with cash shops. How about trying that model for SWG instead of just pulling the plug?

I was part of the early access - stayed up all night waiting for the servers to come online - well launch was delayed but I still waited. Had so much fun staying home from work romping around in SW that I'll never forget it. This just seems like a real letdown to a lot of people. Kind of like when a good show gets canceled in favor of stupid reality shows etc.

Sad decision... it really looks to me like less "Good Timing" for the game, and more about trying to shove the KotOR down the throats of the fans. Again, Knights will hopefully be a good game, but just really feels like someone trying to push the cattle down the aisle they want them to go, rather than letting them make their own choices.

Whatever - guess that helps me decide now which game I'll be going to play - was torn before but now GW2 has my attention and KotOR is off my radar. Note that I've not played SWG for some time now, but was looking forward to jumping back into the SW universe with Knights - but alas - this kind of decision has helped tip the scales for me.

B-bye LucasArts!

UPDATED: Win a copy of Edge of Destiny from Massively!

I'm looking forward to the dynamic play, the non-traditional questing - I've gotten quite burned out on the stagnant questing, the mannequin NPCs and the 'events' that aren't really even happening. Finally, if someone shouts "Help they're gonna burn down my house" then by-golly, those baddies are gonna do it, not just stand around picking their noses....

Can't wait!

[Updated] Win a copy of DC Universe Online from Massively!

Jan 21st 2011 1:32PM (Massively)
Hm, I might have to revisit/rebuild a couple of characters I had in CoH....

"Bananaman" or "the Flaming Poo"

Though my main will probably be a flying blaster, I like to nuke baddies from the sky and they don't even know what hit 'em =)
