If anyone's having problems making a passport make sure you only use letters for your username. If you use numbers as well as letters it will still check you off like its good but will error out.
Nice picture there, that was a screenshot from Rallos Zek pvp server which just happened to be my first step into MMORPG's. I remember that player Penney and of course TR. I feel lucky I was around when EQ launched and I feel bad for anyone that enjoys MMO's that missed that game as it still holds a high place on my list of favorite games of all time.
LOL so funny. Soooooooo glad I didn't bite on this pile, Free To Play is NEVER FREE! I heard all the prices on US shop had a zero added. Meaning the item that's like $689, is now, no joke, $6,890 LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Comedy gold there, comedy gold.
Mine would have to be just logging into Everquest for the first time. I didn't think my dial up modem could handle the game so I didn't buy it at launch. My friend got convinced to try it and reported to me that he was able to play it ok on his dial up connection so I rushed out to bu it myself. The excitement of just logging into the game knowing I was playing in a world with hundreds of other people was all I needed to know I'd be playing these games for awhile.
I think Cryptic got huge negative feedback by making Klingons basically a creature play like LOTRO did. Also probably got huge negative feedback by not having Ferengi's as playable race. So they are doing whatever they can redeem that. To me it should be free and should have been implemented before launch. I "might" have actually bought it if they had both of those races as normally playable races, but they didn't. That, and not having any significant characters from TV series other than some sound bytes of spock ruined it for me. Timeline or not I'd much rather go visit DS9 and have Quark sell me stuff than go there and see absolutely no one from the show. If Cryptic was smart they would have gone ST:Legacy's route by having every major character/figure from the entire series in the game. You're making a game for fans of the IP, the characters are the IP, go figure.
I liked Fallen Earths crafting system the best so far. It was really deep in that I could sit there and figure stuff out for hours. It was also cool that there were alot of details to the crafting system. Little things like crafting chemicals, combining chemicals that make glue, then the glue will help make a weapon that is logical was cool. I also really enjoyed being able to craft on the move. Add to that having items that take a long time to make was a plus as well. Long meaning like days, but adding the ability to craft while offline made it work well.
The only other route that I'd go with a crafting system in an MMO would be the totally opposite route in that it would be complex like Fallen Earths but would actually require crafting stations to create as well as interaction while crafting. The main reason we don't see this method I think is because of how MMO's work with leveling. The concept is cool, but having to do little interactions like 20 plus times over people would get sick of it fast. There would need to be a middle ground somewhere or a rework of the leveling mechanic to craft for it to work.
IW, PC, and MMOFPS? So you're telling me we'll get a call of duty game with mmo aspects running P2P, fully unmoderated, hacks on day one with VAC support? Sign me up! Or wait how bout NO. F IW, and F anything they do on the PC market in the future.
