In theory I like to travel around manually, but it's just not all that exciting. A couple quick points and alternative examples:
1. Mount riding feels kinda boring: pick up a copy of the western game Gun and ride the horse in that game for a few minutes. No MMO mount comes even close and that game is like 6 years old.
2. (usually) There isn't a whole lot to do on the road: and I mean as provided by the game, not inventing stuff to do. For an alternative, try Red Dead Redemption. I think they did a decent job (for a start) at providing interesting (and beneficial!) activities while on the road. Give me something fun to do while I'm on the road, and I'm there.
Some friends and I used Vivox's client Voon for several years and it was a really great fit. The site disappeared, so while anyone with an account and the client installed can still use it, we can't add people. Shame, great service.
Anyone know a standalone VOIP service that uses Vivox these days?
By the way, we've tried renting a Mumble server but we just have constant problems configuring everyone's client. Not very out-of-the-box friendly, although the sound quality is by far the best.
I'd like to hype this to some friends but I feel like that tutorial fails to show the purpose of the game. Like he mentions something about defending. Yeah I need a video of that.
Anyone know a good video that "sells" this game? With a title like Love it's kind of hard to search for.
