Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite pet?
Apr 4th 2012 4:36PM (WoW)Why is Blizzard still OK with gender inequality in World of Warcraft?
Apr 3rd 2012 4:58PM (WoW)First off...I like the creepy dude. Why? Because players should run into more people that they don't treat them with the utmost respect. That's why I liked Fandral Staghelm...he actually looked down on players and was rude. Apparently that made some people hate him, but I thought that was awesome. Until I met Fandral I'd never encountered an NPC that was actually rude to me. That's more like the real world, where you're going to meet jerks and creeps.
And if you want to talk about sexism...what if there was a female character who said something like "wow, aren't you the beefcake? I'd like to eat you up! Rawr!" to male characters and to females was like "oh, hey, here's a quest." No one would say shit about it.
I think the entire discussion about sexism in video games is best avoided completely. Josh is completely white-knighting here, and if you argue against him then you're a creep. The best thing to do is stfu, realize that it's one NPC, and go about your business. Unless there's an NPC who's greeting is "hail maiden, what are you doing out of the kitchen?" I think we can let it slide.
Know Your Lore: The curious dissonance of Alliance leveling

Know Your Lore: The curious dissonance of Alliance leveling
Apr 2nd 2012 7:19PM (WoW)Aaaannnnddd...my fears were confirmed...like usual Blizzard snatches any sort of meaningful victory from our hands. Turns out the Twilight Cult hijacked the Alliance ship, killed the majority of the crew, and used it to take out the horde ship, which was innocently preforming a transport mission to carry a piece of the world pillar to the temple of earth. Of...fucking...course.
My question is why couldn't it have been like this: the Horde and Alliance both go to Deepholm with their airships. When they meet in the air they exchange salvos. The Alliance ship strikes true damaging a critical part of the horde ship. The horde ship goes down. Simple...as...that. Case closed. Victory achieved. No further story there at all. The Alliance weren't acting as pawns, the horde doesn't come right back around and destroy the alliance ship, it's done. For once I would like to see something like that in game.
Warlocks may cast green fire spells in MoP
Mar 25th 2012 3:13PM (WoW)First off...the quest will probably require no gold. A glyph at the beginning of the xpac could easily go for 5,000g or more. The quest will likely be FREE.
Secondly, I think there will be a toggle, which is another money-saving measure. You'll never have to shell out the gold for the MoP version of Dust of Disappearance is if it's just a toggle in your spellbook. It will probably have some cooldown so people don't macro it to every ability and spew green and red fire like some sort of horridly broken Christmas display.
Of course it's just speculation on my part, but everyone else is speculating as well, just they seem to be going the negative route without thinking how awesome this could be for locks.
Does the Annual Pass guarantee instant beta access?
Mar 23rd 2012 10:18PM (WoW)I didn't really expect that Blizz would let all 1 million people in day 1, but they're Blizz, if anyone could do it it's them.
I'm sure there's a few people who though without a doubt, they were getting day 1 access, probably folks who don't know a lot about how these sorts of things work, but is that their fault? No! If Blizzard was going to do waves they should have made that ABUNDANTLY clear to their customers. Instead they promised day 1 access and then reneged on that promise. A real amatuer move imo.
I don't know why people always strive to be so accomodating to this multi-billion dollar company. They're a huge corperation that employs thousands of people, not your forgetful buddy, they have the ability to communicate effectively, and when they don't they should be called out on it.
Does Garrosh Hellscream deserve to die?
Mar 23rd 2012 9:46PM (WoW)if I was Varian and Garrosh was doing "something evil" beneath Orgrimmar I wouldn't care at all. it's the orcs' city, let them deal with it.
