@Furdinand Lol are you drunk? 44 million would be far too many yes, but they didn't have 44 million they had 120K which, considering the game has been out for at least 6 months and this isn't exactly new territory for SOE, they should have been better prepared to handle.
Well it seems they are totally incapable of actually getting the servers running now. Couldn't play last night, servers were down to day and all evening I've been trying to log in and still I can't even get to the character select screen. All the while of course the server status indicator on their website claims all servers are online.
The idea that people just come along to 'kick the tyres' of a game with no intention of sticking around is bogus really, it's more like that a huge amount of people get turned off by the piss-poor 'service' they encounter when they try and fail to even play the game and don't bother to come back. There are just too many good AVAILABLE games to play.
One of my favorite things was the screenshots which has sadly gone bye bye. Still I read the site daily, so thanks for bringing us the news and opinions and for covering such a lot of titles (not an easy task with the amount of MMOs that get released these days).
Exactly. I'm all for customisation where it's going to make interesting and diverse characters but Aion was at best a joke and at worse totally immersion breaking and ruined the appeal of the game for me.
I can't imagine how they thought, after spending so much time on creating a very beautiful and often glamorous world that allowing people to make absurdly disproportioned characters would be a good idea.
I do question sometimes the amount of sliders on characters faces too, when you rarely see the face and even more rarely that close up to see if the cheekbones were 3 mm higher than that other face over there.
Spend the extra effort making some more hair styles, decorations or colour options instead of 100 sliders for 'eyebrow depth' and 'ear angle'.
PvP Content? By which you must mean more players? Since PvP = Players vs Players then surely anything other than new players would be PvE not PvP content?
So then by continually improving the game overall and attracting new people to the game (not to mention opening a brand new server specifically for open world pvp, which I've no doubt you have never played on) must be 'adding new pvp content' since by definition there are more players?
