$125 per ticket? You'd think with all the overcharging they do on WoW they could pass that on to their fans who are already forking out cash for flights and hotel rooms.
Thats really a black and white view of it, and pretty ignorant really. What you need to realize is that Steam is essentially a trade-off. In exchange for registering it to an account, you gain the ability to access your games anywhere, as much as you want.
Most DRM options offer only x amount of installations now. And removing ALL DRM isn't going to help the industry, especially with people tightening their wallets. Yea I know, Sins did it and it sold well. But Sins was also a REALLY good game, and had wide system specs. So it had a very large market.
Overall a DRM that works WITH the consumer, (like steam) is a pretty reasonable option.
Have the fixed the problem where you can't use Fallout 3 DLC if the game isn't installed on the c drive? I'm still waiting to find out if my $10 was worth it.
Gotta say, I'm absolutely impressed at how quickly they're adding content and updating the game. These guys took note from the guys who made Sins of a Solar empire. The people who know whats best for your game are the ones who play it. As for the laggi-ness that still exists, When you get that many people running around in one spot all casting spells that use effects, and constantly syncing with every computer, I'm suprised it runs as well as it does. Not to mention that each scenario has a time limit so you don't end up with those 3 hour long capture the flag events because no-one is able to get the flag. My only gripe is the amount of grinding required in PvP to level, but I think thats just me.
But yea I hope they add a forum soon, also integrate the account management into the main site.
I don't understand the whole 'incomplete' thing people keep talking about. Every single reviewer has said that WAR is the closest thing to a 'perfect' launch they've seen. WoW was barely playable for the first few months. But of course Blizzard had a large base of rabid brainwashed fans out there so of course users didn't leave.
Also its very nice to have consistent weekly fixes rather than once a year 'updates'. As well as content that was removed for launch to be released for free in an update.
