@PhelimReagh That's disappointing to hear, hopefully Jagex gets a handle on it again soon.

@Gojant Absolutely agree with that, and again, not sticking up for him or dismissing what he did. Just pointing out that the above quote doesn't mean anything.

@LFC4LIFE I'm not sticking up for Alex or what he said, but to be completely fair, the above was said while he was still on a flight home. According to his twitter, he initially didn't believe what he was quoted as saying in the Massively article, and in his apology he similarly said that it wasn't until he got home and saw the recording that he realised it was true.

So the above message is actually consistent with his statement that he didn't remember what he'd said while drunk. That's not taking sides or absolving him of responsibility, it's just highlighting that it's factually inaccurate to use the above message as evidence that his apology was insincere, as the message came before the apology and before he'd seen the video evidence.

@ScottishViking I had planned not to post that as I didn't want the victim's name getting around, but all the other sites haven't had the same regard and have posted it anyway.

And yeah, I have goons set to neutral as I'm not in a nullsec alliance so I rarely see them. They might be red to my alliance that I've temporarily left to try Faction Warfare.

@nimzy Technically I'm a Something Awful goon. There are plenty of nice people over there, even if some parts do have an overriding culture of trolling.

@Riddled I have the opposite problem in Heroes of Newerth. I always play supports, so people make fun of me for having a low kill to death ratio. Public stats are the bane of MOBAs.

@DeeBeeP In his apology and on Twitter, The Mittani said himself that being drunk is no excuse and he takes full responsibility for hs words. He's also sent a personal letter of apology to the victim along with 11 billion ISK, and said on Twitter that he will resign from his chairman seat or the CSM if necessary.. It does appear that he's taking this very seriously.

Leaving the CSM may be an overreaction as he did a good job as CSM chairman last year and it would be a real shame to lose him over a poor decision during an event panel. We'll await the final result of CCP's investigation, which may or may not be revealed publicly as EVE does have a privacy policy. It's possible he could be banned from the game, which would most likely be a temporary ban as per EVE's terms of service if he has no other infractions on his account.
