10 Books That Would Be Geektastic Movies

Aug 3rd 2010 11:05AM (Moviefone Blog)
Finally a voice of reason. Really makes me wonder about someones reading credentials when they would suggest a Stephen King series over something much more epic in scope like "The Chronicles of Amber".

Zelzany's two series are also much smaller pagewise so it would be easier to adapt them to a movie format without having to hack and slash at the source material in order to get them to 2-3 hours per movie like LotR. Even though Jackson did an amazing job at keeping the core of LotR and I love the trilogy, he did do a lot of chopping.

And while we are on the subject hows about:

- Moorcock's Eternal Champion series starting with Elric of Melnibone talk about your epic series that could run into 10's of pictures and billions in revenue if done right.

- Stephen Donaldson's "Thomas Covanent the Unbeliever"? This series would be amazing to see on the big screen.

- Fritz Leiber's Tales of Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser. Yet another series that would be great if done right.

All three of these are at least on the level of LotR and people need to realize that Tolkien was not the only one out there to write great Fantasy, he was just one of the first.

WAR's must-have expansion races: Skaven

Mar 17th 2008 3:21AM (Massively)
gah, I really wish public figures would refrain from posting things of this sort because all it does is taint others who have no idea about the WH IP into thinking your ideas are somehow credible and good.

So you are more than willing to include Clan Pestilens and Skryre but just as willing to dismiss Eshin and Moulder? /rolls eyes.

Your 'speculation' is complete BS and leaving out half of what Skaven are all about (assassins and mutation) shows you know very little about the race in general.

You also include both the weakest and LEAST iconic Skaven with the most powerful as class choices again showing your lack of understanding.

Stormvermin - You chose these as the Tank because they basically 'fit' the part but then admitted they really didnt have much going for them other than that. /yawn

Grey Seer - To compare them with an ArchMage is a travesty. The Grey Seers are Skaven prophets and last time I looked that wasnt the role Archmagi fulfilled in Elf Society. BIG DIFFERENCE. Sure they might be equally powerful from a TT perspective but Grey Seers are MUCH more rare and revered. They should be barking commands from the back line while riding a screaming bell, not in the battle spending most of their time.......healing.

The best setup that includes all four clans is:

Tank - PlagueMonk
MDPS - Assassin
RDPS - Warlock Engineer
Hybrid - Master Moulder w/Rat Ogre
