The true beauty of this is that Derek Smart had a recent blog post threatening legal action towards anyone who copied one of his TL;DR rants. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but if I was on the inside and wanted to embarrass Quest Online intentionally, this would be a good way to do it.
Disable the "Need" button on the loot roll window if: 1) the item is not for your class OR 2) the item is not for your race If you can't equip it, you can't Need it.
What if it's for your alt? Well, then your alt needs it, not you. Press Greed and haggle to get it from whoever wins it. This is better than Needing for an alt and taking it from someone else who was actually PRESENT at the encounter you just finished.
Is it immune to abuse? Of course not. If a WP item drops that I already have, I could Need and outroll everyone else, even though I'm just being greedy. Others could do the same to me. It's still not fair, but locking down the Need button is way less prone to abuse by level 4 BWs who like to Need EVERYTHING at "Welcome to Troll Country."
Achievements are way older than Halo. I played the crap out of X-Wing (and before that, Gunship) just so my medals case would show and extra badge or two.
We invited a newly guilded rogue to fill in on Zul'jin because one of our other members had to log. We're standing on the walkway in front of Zul'jin's platform. Everyone is flasked, fed, buffed, and eager to be done for the night. The leader issues a ready check. The rogue says, "hang on guys, I have to eat dinner."
After 10 minutes, we find a sub for the AFK dinner-eating noob, but it's only then we realize there's no way to get the rogue OUT of the ZA instance. As long as he's in we can't replace him.
At the 30 minute mark, the game auto-boots him from the instance. 1 second after that, he's booted from the guild. He wrote one of officers later, asking why he was gbooted.
The tank shortage is explained by the key role the tank plays. Traditionally, the tank marks, pulls, and gives direction to his group members along the lines of "okay, everyone DPS skull now!"
It's easy to roll a tank. It's a bit harder to acquire and apply the knowledge people expect a tank to have.
