@mattaui A game problem around the proliferation / expectation of voice chat is that a lot of developers get lazier about developing good in-game text chat systems. After all, if the assumption is that players will VOIP, who cares what the chat system does?
It's the only explanation I can think of behind titles such as DCUO and WAR having such atrocious text chat systems.
@nimzy NetDevil doesn't even exist as a studio any more - no website and their name was taken off Fortune Online quite a while ago. Once Jumpgate gets shut down, that's it - it will have no active projects left.
The studio is dead; Gazillion just hasn't fully buried it yet.
NCsoft's Q4 figures were released today. The move to F2P last year saw a 22% jump in CoH/V's revenue, which is good, but it isn't the 500% / 1000% increase claimed by some other companies.
Paragon Studios has exactly one title, and that title has seen declining revenue for a long time now. These kind of boxes might be seen as greedy (and I'm personally not interested in them) but the reality is that if PS can't get CoH/V's revenue up, they aren't going to be hanging around to make CoH/V 2.
