The Daily Grind: What's the MMO you played the longest?

Feb 24th 2010 9:32AM (Massively)
LOTRO is my long term game. I started playing with my two kids back in the beta days and then we had three accounts. One of them as just left his subsciption die two days ago, the other is not much in nowadays, but I feel the urge to go back, even if I don't have many people to play with now.

But the story, the landscape and the feelling of being part of something - yes I am in a RP server and that is important - make me wish to stay forever in LOTRO. It feels like a cosy place to travel and even my humble hobbit home in the Shire is a place I find difficult to drop. I reaaly don't know if I shall keep the subscprition, though...

Now Iam playing Star Trek Online and Iam having a lot of fun there so I might stay for a while. One of my kids is also nurturing a character there, let's see how long this lasts.

LotRO two-year anniversary: Book 8 details announced

Apr 24th 2009 10:48AM (Massively)
great news. Having a way to define the opponents based on your party number might be really interesting for when you can not get all people onboard for a quest. maybe Turbine should extend it to more than the skirmishes. anyway, that's good news.
also for the customizable soldiers, I guess... they might be a welcome hand. LotRO keeps getting better, and kind of answering the prayers of players. Tha'ts really why I keep at it... an also my two sons. He've been playing since the beta.
Grats LotRO, Grats Turbine

The Daily Grind: Would you ever play a noncombatant?

Feb 17th 2008 8:29AM (Massively)
I would not mind trying something of the kind. Always having to fight to reach a new level is sometimes... tiring.. But a game like this would have to offer something extra, maybe continuous exploration of new areas, what means it would have to be an ongoing project for the creators. Every game on the first days is like that...with people amazed at the new content and discoveries - we've been all rushing about in LOTRO now, buying new clothes and other stuff... but soon we will want more. I remember the amazement we had with the EA space online game Earth Beyond(can't recall the name) when it first came out... but look where it is now... In that game smomehow you could run away from battle and try to live a peaceful life. Still, sometimes it would be nice to have something of the kind for a change. Any idea?
