SWTOR unsubscribe option goes missing for some [Updated]

@OrangeGamer

Except it could actually be a browser issue. For example, if you're running No Script on Firefox, then that'll cause it to not show and 1/2 the links on the site to not work unless you allow certain permissions.

Without giving permission to blogsmithmedia.com, I wouldn't be able to make a comment on this site. Odd as that may seem.

Blizzard seems to think that Cataclysm was too linear

In other words:

"Hey, our last expansion sucked and players know it. However, we really want to hype our new expansion and say that we've learned from our mistakes (although we made that comment going from WotLK to Cata as well)."

The game is going bye-bye and SW:TOR is now going to take it's place as king of the land.

SWTOR's Daniel Erickson on pulling players' moral strings

The companion thing is confusing as nuts. Take Khem Val for example. The guy is essentially my salve and will be happy whenever I allow other slave-like bound creatures or people free (either directly, or indirectly by slaying their master).

However, when it comes to talking about how I was once a slave and dislike how people degrade them, apparently Khem doesn't like that and I lose companion points with that?

I think it's that Khem likes that other slaves go free, but he doesn't want to see weakness in his master (i.e. me) such as that. Maybe? I don't know, I side-paneled him when I got better companions in my mid-30's. At least those ones bow down to me, even if they are psychotic and crazy.

The Daily Grind: Are you a fan of attunement?

@Lucidus

Well I agree about the 2000 boarhide grind would be ridiculous, there should also be some effort in them. I'm sick of "new" people joining a guild and instantly being able to jump in the raid and gain items and other noteriety without putting the effort into it that other guild members have.

As for entertainment, I think the Karazahan attunment key quests were very entertaining.

Answer your beta-related questions, Star Wars: The Old Republic does

For some odd reason, the Force is giving me a sensation that this game will not make it for their projected "Spring 2011" launch window. Perhaps I'm so Force sensitive that I can see into the Past.

[Updated] Guild Wars 2 Charr plushies on sale now, but you can win one free from Massively!

Sep 8th 2011 3:32PM (Massively)
I should win because I have a TY beanie baby of a Baboon sitting on my shelf humping a TY beanie baby of Woodstock (Peanut's bird). This char would be great because I can position him about the Baboon so that he can then be humping the baboon while it's in turn humping Woodstock. It will be a great stuffed animal orgy, Charlie Brown!

PAX 2011: SWTOR Alderaan PvP session captured on video

@Mtor

Shows how much you know. It's more like Arathi Basin instead of Alterac Valley, and that's because AB was about capturing and holding locations for points where as AV was a PvE race to kill the enemy boss first.

And, what was the point of Arathi Basin anyways? Hold a Farm, hold a Blacksmith, hold a Mill...but why? At least in this one there's a good vision to the fight of controlling turrets to destroy an enemy ship. There's story and depth to it, not just random location on a map to hold.

As for the PvP, I love how it's very intense, yet not to eye-burning. By that I mean that it's not overly populated with particle effects like in other games. Sure, there's the lasers, the lightning, the Lightsabers, etc. But those are subtle and look more believable instead of excessive lights swirling around everything.

The Daily Grind: Does Origin's new EULA make you feel better about playing an EA game?

Aug 28th 2011 2:02PM (Massively)
I'm not at all reassured! They can still snoop and spy.

I like porn (who doesn't?) I don't want EA snooping around and knowing my porn sites and information of that sort.

I also have secure security information used in other sites, games and so on. How can they legally view that information (which their EULA says that Origin can, although "they won't use it").

Oh, and I'm a closed-Beta tester for 2 different games, both of which have strong ToS/NDA's. Isn't that against THOSE companies right to keeping their information private from competition for EA to snoop a computer and basically data mine the files? That's like corporate espionage right there! Yet a "legal contract" allows them to do it?

The Daily Grind: What half-developed content intrigues you the most?

Tabula Rasa, the whole game.

The Daily Grind: What game terminology gets your goat?

Jul 30th 2011 8:28AM (Massively)
Most annoying is when players cannot say a zone or dungeon that they reference to and instead use the first letters of it only, expecting everyone to instantly pick up what the hell they're saying.

First week of Rift many of the Beta testers did this and normal newcomers had to continually ask what they were saying. All because they're too lazy.
