Rep. Tim Scott Turns Down CBC. What's He Afraid Of?

Mar 22nd 2011 12:35PM (BV Black Spin)
A black guy who doesn't want to join the racist CBC? Oh noes!

For all the black "victims" out there who blame rape and murder and whatever else on the white man, hey, here's an idea, point the finger where it belongs and stop blaming someone else when your neighbor shoots your other neighbor over some crack. But, hey, who would want to "act white" by dressing nicely and showing up for work on time and not talking ebonics, right? Anyone who carries the victim-hood chip on their shoulder is their own worst enemy.

President Obama Falls Short on Gun Issue

Mar 16th 2011 11:48AM (BV Black Spin)
Guns sales have been through the roof, more and more people conceal carry every day, yet crime is down. Washington D.C.'s murder rate the past two years is the lowest its been since like 1964 -- this after the gun ban was repealed. The "assault weapons ban" was a joke that not only banned certain guns simply because they "looked scary," but the facts show it didn't do anything constructive. Anti-gun people have no facts on their side, only emotions.

Gun laws mainly affect law-abiding citizens, since those are the citizens who actually follow laws. Criminals don't follow laws, that's why they are called criminals. The Second Amendment's main purpose is to fight tyranny. Governments have killed 10s of millions of their own citizens... after first taking their guns away. (which is why gun registration is a Very Bad Idea. If you need a history lesson on that, look up Jews, Guns, Hitler.)

And now we have the ATF's Project Gunwalker scandal. The Mayors Against Guns and The Brady Campaign show their true colors by not speaking up more about this. When it comes to actually standing up against the wrongful use of guns, they are nowhere to be found.

Anyone who thinks taking guns away from law-abiding citizens needs to set their emotions aside and seriously read up on the subject. Think about it... drugs are banned in the U.S. too, right? How's that working out? Mexico has strict gun laws, too. How's that working out? The UK bans guns, so now they have more knife crime, and more crime overall, and bad guys can still get guns, but law-abiding citizens can't.

Bottom line: gun sales have been through the roof, concealed carry increases every day, yet crime is down. This means Guns Are Not The Problem. Want to lower the murder rate? Maybe do something about the gang problem. And anyone who thinks no one needs a gun to protect their family, go watch some L.A. Riots video on Youtube to refresh your memory.

Herman Cain Plays the Race Card Against Barack Obama

Mar 16th 2011 12:52AM (BV Black Spin)
I don't understand how even the hardcore Left can be behind Obama anymore. Is it just because he has a "D" next to his name? Is that it? He's continued numerous Bush policies, including more Afghanistan, more Patriot Act, more Ben Bernanke (ugh!), etc.

He said he'd close Gitmo, now he 180'd on that AND made an Executive Order to be able to hold prisoners for their entire life Even After they've been acquitted. His administration can and has put U.S. citizens on assassination lists without Due Process. (Where's Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson on that one?)

He took a million dollars from Goldman Sachs. He's on video from 2008 at a town hall meeting where he said he's against mandated healthcare. He's a liar who said anything to get elected the first time, and he'll lie again to get elected a second time. I've started to see a decent number of Democrats who see through him, at least. Obama will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents ever. If Democrats don't think they can find a better person to be President in 2012, they're wrong.

Review: V - Pilot (series premiere)

Nov 23rd 2009 4:36PM (AOL TV)
"WHAT IS THE MINERAL they so sorely need??????
Shouldn't somebody on Earth have asked that question?"

Must be part of that "great writing" a couple people in this thread want people to believe.

Don't criticize a show because "writers are intelligent" and "people on the show work hard" and "you don't understand how many people in the process say, 'Do it this way,' 'No, do it that way'? Come on.

It's a major-network show, based on a series from decades ago, (further proving that Hollywood only has 30 years worth of ideas), made by people supposedly at the top of the entertainment food chain and who make lots of money doing it, but we're not supposed to criticize? Pfft. You heard me. I say, "Pfft."

Anti-Aliased: Games you should have played, but probably didn't.

I think you picked a couple of the least impressive points about Dungeons and Dragons Online. More impressive things would be:

A great LFG system that people actually use.

Arguably the best quests in any MMO. None of this "go bring me 20 rabbit ears and then come back so you can then get me 20 pig ears" stuff. Want to grind in a generic field on generic monsters to level up? Sorry, if you want to level up in DDO, you'll have to do more interesting and fun things than that.

The greatest freedom in character creation of any MMO. Want to be a wizard who wears armor and fights with two big swords? No problem. Want to be an agile, dexterity finesse fighter? Ok. Want to be a barbarian who can also disable traps? No problem. Want to be a battle cleric who heals the good guys and then beats up the bad guys with a two-handed axe? Check. Want to be a fighter who can use magic wands? You got it.

The best combat of any MMO. Period. Trip people, run-and-gun, flank, do a backflip when a giant is swinging his club at you to get out of his range and then tumble back in to then hit him, collision detection so you can stand between the bad guy and your frail wizard, block, etc. What other MMO lets me manually dodge a fireaball!?

All the people who complain about WoW clones? Here you go.

Penny Arcade digs on DDO, encapsulates modern MMO industry

Schad summed things up pretty well in post #1.
If people like to play WoW because it has so many players, most of whom don't even like to group so they may as well be playing a solo game without any other players, more power to them. What's the point of playing with 10 million other people if everyone usually likes to do everything solo?

When WoW lets me backflip out of the reach of a giant's club when he swings at me, or lets me actively block someone's attack, or trip a guy, or lets me manually dodge a fireball, let me know. I'd bet Age of Conan's "active combat" will still be a pale imitation of what DDO has already had since its creation. Enjoy your yeti grinding with 10 million players. Sounds like fun.(?)
