Massively goes Hands-on with DDO and the Shroud

The main thing you may forget is in pen and paper a smart DM can overcome some simple tactics (i.e. having monsters back out of a fire wall). A computer simulation cannot compose similar statagies, no matter how well it is programmed. At this point no AI can match up with the cleverness of humans. Yes they did nerf a few spells, but even the lowest level monsters ended up with a pile of extra hitpoints. It is part of the experience to use the abilites you have to your advantage. It is just as fun for those who enjoy melee fighters to hit things as it is for spell casters to fry them. I loved letting bad guys stew in banks of Cloud Kill, but I understand it was turning the game into a repeatable situation - run to door, cast area effect spells, wait, repeat. In my opinion the change was not such a terrible thing.

I would also love to see some higher level solo quests. I tend to play a lot, and sometime people in general get on my nerves...

I feel as though the Turbine people have made a fairly balanced game. Yes it is different than traditional PnP D&D (which I have played for 15 years), but it is still a fun experience - no matter which type of character I play.
