MMOGology: Gear of war

Feb 4th 2008 2:19PM (Massively)
I understand the point your trying to get across, however, why should they level the playing field? One of the main points of a MMORPG is that you increase your characters skills AND your skills over time. They way that manifests itself is through achievements. Your character killed the big dragon and got the staff of beatdown. Mine didn't. And although we've been playing the same calendar year length you've put in twice the hours played I have. You should win.

This is not to say what you want couldn't be a viable game. However what your asking for seems like it isn't an MMORPG, it's an MMOFPS.

EU calls on F1 to switch to four-cylinders, bio-fuels and hybrids

The should change the formula to give cars X amount of energy per race, declare safety minimums, and remove all other restrictions.

That would bring innovation back into Formula 1, which is in desperate need of a refocusing. It would also force teams to think about energy consumption more than just for pit strategy.

World of Warcraft: Shifting gears in WotLK

Players that are still being challenged by the various raids and that want to experience the challenges that lie ahead will still play as normal. Those that don't like the instance grind and/or don't care about the challenges may stop playing.

Taking a break isn't a bad thing either.

Dinan strokes the M5/M6's V10 to 5.7-liters, 628 hp

That price is ridiculous. I mean, that's almost half the value of the car for just 130 brake hp!?!

If I owned an M5/M6 and wanted more power I think I'd wait around for some more tuners to develop products.

Seems like a bad investment - but hey, great country - people are free to do what they want.

Autoline on Autoblog with John McElroy

I am just a fan who likes to follow the auto industry.

It doesn't take an insider to appreciate John's comments. Admittedly I'm a John fanboy, because I love Autoline Detroit. Even with that said, I don't always agree with him. Here however, it seems so obvious that this is a pretty big article. I mean, come on - if someone can read between the lines and see what John is saying here...

For those who see nothing but the usual in this article, pay attention to what he chooses to emphasize. You can find a pretty powerful message if you look. He's got an interesting theme in the article.

Nice article John, I like how you write like you talk (on the show at least). The picture you paint indicates we can expect to see some more departures from Chrysler.

BMW confirms permanence of M3 CSL model

Jul 24th 2007 9:55AM (Autoblog)
Can someone confirm the weight of the E92 M3 being 7% lighter than the E46 M3? That sounds like BS - I thought it was 3600lbs+. The E46 M3 (coupe, not convertible) is 3415lbs max I believe.

BMW plans to sell 100,000 M3s

It would be nice if BMW would use the M5 as the softer/heavier/more powerful car and use the M3 to target the more hardcore/low weight/sharp handling car. Instead they keep making both versions softer. When I bought my E46 ZCP M3 last year I did it figuring if I wanted a great car like the M3 then I had to buy it now because there's no guarantee BMW would make it fatter and softer (E30 and E36 M3 owners would say the same of my car). IMO I did the right thing. I wouldn't mind having the E92's lump to throw in my car though - then I'd throw my S54 into my 323 ;)

Another one, seriously? Shelby and Ford to produce GT500 Super Snake coupes

Apr 27th 2007 10:51PM (Autoblog)
19. The M3 is nice, but this car is for a different buyer. There are a lot of baby boomers out there with cash to spend and that have a connection to the Shelby and Mustang names. Ford is smart - they don't have to dedicate many resources to get more media coverage and if they have a stang that pulls numbers like a Z06, they'll get some coverage.

It's not my type of car, but still seems like a good move.

Breaker, Breaker: Year One recreates Bandit T/As

Nice. I always loved that car as a child. I wonder what the price range is going to be. Glad to see people doing things like this. I hope I get the chance to see one on the road.
