Second-Hand consoles in stores will always be wiped with the console's own tools. That's the only method available to them and stores will be too lazy to take the hard drive apart and low-level format it. There should be an option on the console to do this, but yeah, it should be buried so it doesn't get used by accident.

But the finger also gets pointed at MS for storing the user's credit card info unencrypted on the hard drive at ANY stage. Without making sure there's no method that it can be recovered. It should be a purely network transaction...

I can see instances where people won't have much money and only feel they can offer a spare dollar for charity, but given how many people paid a dollar, there's no way all of those could be in that situation. It's upsetting to know people only felt like giving $1 to charity to get a game by their "god" Mojang. And given some Paypal fees are fixed, a good chunk of those $1 donations go to Paypal's pocket.

Yeah sorry, I got a bit too heated there as the original Humble Bundle was geared towards Indie devs giving their games away as a reward for giving to charity. It feels like these clones are only around the make money from the idea.

I would love to know how much "Groupees" gives to the devs, but their website doesn't give any info whatsoever on anything. Plus only 20% doesn't seem very much imo.

the "Groupees" site doesn't prevent this either, but be sure in the knowledge that less of that dollar goes to charity :P

I know people donate only a dollar and during Mojam many people in chat were seething that people would only pay a dollar for charity. But it ALL went to charity during Mojam. Hell I paid for it and I have no interest in the games!

Indie Royale is not for charity and we don't know what goes to the devs, it's a baiting method of getting people to pay and I just don't like the tactics they employ. That's what annoys me about it.

Meh, I only ever donate to the humble bundle because I know how much of my money is going to charity and how much to devs.

Only 20 percent for charity? So how much goes to the "artists" as they call them and how much does the company make from all this?

Too many clones of the Indie bundle and the most detestable being Indie Royale which is just horrible in every way, especially the way it pushes customers to pay more and more, even pressure them to pay them quickly so they "pay less".

Footnote: I pay for every humble bundle and a sizeable amount too, even though I tend to own all or most of the games they offer up and even buy copies for my friends sometimes.

Also, this is the best game you could find a pitch for? looks like an artistic version of bit.trip.beat and I couldn't stand that game. This somehow looks worse.

When will Joystiq stop taking backhanders from apple and show us some actual Indie games? I'm getting fed up with posts with the word "Indie" being only i only. There's plenty of PC and web Indie games out there in the wild.

@Blyn Pretty much the truth though, the foundry in it's current state lacks content, has serious bugs and limitations. And is serious under-supported.

The fact they've released this challenge is a joke as there's no way to do anything better than what's already in the foundry.

The problem is it will ALWAYS be that price when buying directly, 4 years down the line it will still be €49.99 and EVERY mainstream publisher/developer is guilty of this. Red Faction Armageddon going on PSN over a year after it came out for £58 for download was hilarious, most games come out here in retail for £40 or under.
