Tyr you speak of a specific case in which you have invested the time necessary to make a complete decision. I must express my concern for your fear as I do not feel the same way.
You have expressed exactly what I wish for game developers to do. I do not wish for them to give good reviews for the sake of it. I just would hope they would give the game the proper play time to discover all elements and THEN and ONLY THEN make their final decision.
Please take time to digest and understand what you are saying before you say it as I believe you have just reinforced my point rather than squashed it.
This is why we can not trust game reviews these days. They are half assed and complete a piece of opinion yet written as if it were the law. We can really NEVER trust an MMO gamescore from a reviewing company because they will never give it the proper time to develop.
The core of an MMO is not discovered in a mere 6 hours gameplay. It is an adventure usually consisting of delayed reward schemes to keep the user occupied for longer. Thus creating value for the gamers precious dollars.
I can not say that I am surprised. I have not yet played GA but I do know it is an atypical game design, or at least the shell is. Foward thinking games are getting shot down left and right. I am left unrefreshed and unstimulated by the gaming market honestly, but to review something dishonestly or without the proper time invested is a crime.
Yeah, covering MAG is a major advertising revenue booster! I am sure....
Furthermore, who cares that this game is not "massive" in the sense of the modern day MMO. Why must you be so confined and categorical in your thinking. Why don't you remove the +20 homosexual staff from your ass and start playing real games.
Gamers take the responsibility for their own actions.
Extremes are fun to glorify because they are extremes! They are things no man or woman should want or be able to accomplish for reasons of lack of time or skill. Someone had the opportunity to accomplish their goal of such an extreme and to most MMO gamers including myself this is impressive.
I however have no plans of following suit. That is the way I choose to live my life and play my MMO's.
If they ever offer a trial you should actually try the game before you develop an opinion. Please refer to my last comment where I instructed the naysays to kindly stop playing with their tits and start playing more of THE GAME before they hold any kind of idea of what crimecraft is.
With that being said I can not refute the point that a game like Planetside is in need of development asap.
This game is incredible. The maps are very well thought out, and look great. The PvE game modes leave a little something to be desired, but I can see room for improvement. The economy is crazy right now, but you can get rich if you know what you are doing. Crafting is very fun and rewarding, but it will cost you a pretty penny to level it.
I would love to know how this is like counter-strike. Yes it is a first person shooter with guns in it. In fact none of the guns are the same as counter strike since they are all fictional guns and fictional models. I find it funny that people decide to bash a game before they even play it. Might I suggest you play this game more and play with your tits less.
I have played many mmos and I have to say none of the current lined up in September interest me at all. it seems that noone has done anything too origional, and it all ends up just feeling like the same game with a different gimmick.
I recently picked up crimecraft and have been playing it day and night. It has had an amazing launch which the exception of a few short server hiccups that have since been straightened out. The community is tight and fairly mature. All around a solid purchase this september.
I am however disappointed in CO after beta. It just doesn't appeal to me and the performance issues seemed like they were so far from launch, yet they were actually one week away. Aion interests me the most, and I will be following that at launch to see if I will be getting into that.
While I agree this is not massive pvp I don't think a game must be as massive as planetside to be an MMOFPS. What I do think though is that planetside is the single best and most innovative game of all time. It is showing its age these days, but in its prime it was great.
