BlizzCon skipping 2012 due to 'jam-packed schedule'

@Lethality Try explaining that to your shareholders.

"Sure our numbers are half as much as last year, but any other company would be glad to be in our position"

No, I don't think that will fly very well at all.

Alleged former THQ staffer sends furious note to board, press

@A Sandwich In companies like this promoting people who know what they are doing is discouraged. If you hire/promote someone who knows what they are doing then you put your own job at risk.

There have been studies on corporate culture where in enviroments such as these you hire/promote strategically with the goal of protecting yourself first, company's interest second.

Sure, not all companies are like this but I have worked under managers whose promotions were more politically motivated than skill or performance driven.

PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset heads to retail September 6

Can I multi-purpose these? I know I would really appreciate these if they worked on both my PC and PS3. If it does it would be an instant purchase for me.

Omake Theater is genius. Tie the blanket to itself through a portal to create a hammock! Sure beats sleeping on the floor. Interesting use of portals. I would never have thought of that.

First Impressions: Divine Souls

@(Unverified) Out of the box gamepad support was one of my favorite and least published features in Vindictus.

Tell me if DS has the same features. I'd rather not have to use stopgap measures like xpadder if I don't have to =/

EVE ISK buyers outed in database leak

Mar 12th 2011 9:53PM (Massively)
Yes I have RMTed.

Maybe not for EVE but I have in other games some of them F2P.

I work full time but I like to play casually and many game devs like to to use gold as a time sink and frankly I don't have the time nor inclination to grind so if a little RL money can save me time I am willing to do it.

I know in a few F2P games it was cheaper to RMT to buy in game cash, then use that in-game cash to buy cash shop items, than it was to cash shop it directly.

I wasn't buying an "unfair advantage" as it was something available to anyone with enough money but I just bought the same things at a cheaper price. At least thats my reasoning in this case.

Bungie: MMO announcement during GDC panel was a joke

Mar 5th 2011 1:39PM (Joystiq)
Don't worry people looking for "WOW in Space" I think Old Republic Online has us covered there.

GDC 2011: Bungie's MMO won't be WoW in space

Good because I think Old Republic Online already has that covered.

Siege in an all-new way with the Heroes of Gaia: Ascension expansion

Feb 26th 2011 1:53AM (Massively)
HoG hasn't been the same since the server merges. It seems to be a common theme in many of the F2P cashop driven games. They have rapid expansion in new servers/realms. Players dropoff over time and no one new joins as not to be in a competative disadvantage starting later and when things die out consolidate the servers.

Rinse and repeat till one realm is actually the leftovers of 12 others merges. It happened to HoG it happened to Galaxy Online and quite frankly it got real old after these server merges and content "expansions" that really didn't add much or change up the gameplay at all.

Atlantica Online removes Stamina, allows unlimited play

Feb 25th 2011 11:14AM (Massively)
I was playing Atlantica before Stamina and RAGE QUIT because of it. Now that it is gone I have started anew in Delphi and already almost caught up to my old lvl 6X character.

That being said there is still incentive to party. Aggro mobs still like to gang bang your party and the EXP bonuses/risk dispersion in even a 2-man party are still significant to make me want to party up when I can.
