Mar 27th 2012 9:05AM (Joystiq)It's set at or near the beginnings of the Final Empire, so I'd say after.

Online Pass game included in latest EA server shutdowns
Mar 19th 2012 3:13PM (Joystiq)That's not what the game is doing, if you're on a console (I'm assuming you are, since PC games don't have online passes). It's signing you in to do some basic tracking of how long you play the game and so on (they do this for ALL of their games anymore, including iOS and Android stuff). There should be an option to disable that info gathering in the options menu on the title screen (afaik it's all anonymous and not actually attached to your account name, but I know how paranoid people can be). Logging out of your EA/Origin account (same difference, they just don't call it Origin on consoles) will prevent you from seeing any news updates or using actual Online Passes (like say ME3; those connect to EA servers so you kind of need to log into them to use them). The system is also used for cross-game promotions, demo unlockables (all of the KoA demo stuff is unlocked through your EA account and not saved on your console/computer, and the BF3 ME3 bonus multiplayer stuff isn't in the BF3 Online Pass file but saved to your EA account), and other promotions (DA2 bonuses).
If you redeemed the code or paid for the DLC then it's yours and can be downloaded through XBL/PSN regardless of the status of your EA account. Yes, your EA account keeps track of what DLC you own (check out your BioWare Social page if you play their games), but you can still download it all through your console's network because that purchase info is always saved with them.
tl;dr: yes, it's tied to both your EA and XBL/PSN account but all DLC is served by XBL/PSN, so your EA account only tracks what you own and nothing more.

Q&A with your roleplaying questions
Feb 18th 2012 9:56PM (WoW)Night Elf mages do make sense, because there have always been Highborne remnants left in Kalimdor. You kill a bunch of bad ones in Dire Maul to gain reputation with the good ones. What was left of them decided they had better things to do than sit around a ruined city after they figured out that the Cataclysm was coming, so they went and talked with Tyrande and Malfurion. Tyrande said no, Malfurion said yes, and since Tyrande is an awfully written female leader she just let Malfurion do whatever he wanted. Not everybody was happy about it either (see: Maiev).
Worgen druids at the end of Cataclysm
Feb 15th 2012 7:09AM (WoW)Malfurion wants to move everyone away from that, hence Worgen druids. Not everyone agrees though (see: Maiev).

Dec 28th 2011 9:23PM (Joystiq)Why *isn't* it news? I didn't know that this demo existed until I read this, and I doubt you did either. Sounds like news to me.
Burning Crusade weapon models 'mogged the most
Dec 27th 2011 6:10PM (WoW)One-hand weapons were modeled for both hands, but turning it into a main-hand means you can potentially equip a main-hand in the off-hand slot. They'd rather piss off a few people than have a bunch running around with glitchy looking weapons.
