I figure the middle option is a good substitute for it...

I'm a little against offering a scale with a middle-of-the-road option when designing survey tools though, generally. Letting people sit on the fence about something is a recipe for lots of average unless you have something extremely awesome in the mix.

But seriously, this is one of the main problems of using current legal processes on metaverses - it never happens as fast as people in the world want it to happen.

I wonder if this is caused by Linden Lab policies on privacy. Mayhaps its time to consider allowing for storage of proofs of age in the system?

The same way you get other visual media streams in SL onto prim surfaces. the only awkward aspect of it is that you need to have enabled media viewing within Second Life to get webpages. This not really an ideal implementation (you don't really need Quicktime to browse a webpage in any form except for embedded quicktime streams), but it's a start.

Now all that's to do is to improve the implementation. Oh, and fix this blasted error - media settings should not be crashing the sim - they're not meant to be anything more than a parameter for clients to parse.

There is no room for child abuse under me, and any effort that stops it from occurring is something that I can get behind.

However, Mr Farrell is conflating child abuse and consensual roleplay. Whilst it may be illegal in Second Life to engage in Second Life, I was under the understanding that the Wonderland build was meant purely for non-sexual ageplay when it existed.

I would also question the nature of a group with 'incest' as well: incest can occur in various forms, some patently illegal and unnatural, others merely unethical. all the resident may be guilty of as a member of a group called 'incest' is having some proclivities that your idea of society considers unacceptable.
