I'm calling it. War and AOC are getting all the attention, but Aion will be a sleeper hit.
The vast majority of people who actually research the development of this game are pleasantly surprised. Too bad so many are just looking at a few screenshots and calling it "another asian grind fest".
I think micro transactions are ok for novelty or "flavor" items like pets, armor dyes, mount accessories, or trinkets with silly abilities. But items (gear) that increases your stats (character performance) should probably be earned in-game.
I guess those sites play a valuable role. I just can't help but imagine how these virtual worlds would seem bigger and more mysterious if we didn't have all these databases and spreadsheets.
Lewis and Clark's journey would have been pretty lame if they already knew everything that they would find. Like a manual explaining not only where to go, but the exact steps they need to take after they get there.
I understand that a lot of people like the min/max game-play. But the explorer in me wishes that some answers were a little further than your fingertips.
