Sorry, I missed yours. I went ahead and added some links back to your blog. I've been subbed to your feed for some time too, and definitely would have you used your post as a point of main reference. Thanks for pointing it out.

The Daily Grind: monthly fee or microtransactions?

It depends on the game. I'll accept the RMT model in card games, like MTG, but I prefer monthly subs in any MMORPG like WoW.

Age of Conan: There will be an open beta

100k+ signups, not invitees. Out of that pool, 15k are invited ATM.

If you buy the CE through either Gamestop or Best Buy, you will get a code or something to redeem an exclusive mount. The Gamestop version will be the War Mammoth and the Best Buy version will carry the code for the Killer Rhino.

Bad joke. :)

Enhance your calm, John Spartan. There was no press release, but I like shiny tin foil hats. The author of the linking article sent it in as a tip, and Eli felt that it was newsworthy enough to post about it.

Curt's actually a pretty cool guy. I played on the same server as Curt, (EQ Mac) I had no idea who he was, and he's a stand up guy, even after the server found out he was playing there. He tried to get me to join his guild, (I was guildless) but didn't push or anything, and would message me out of the blue to talk about the game. I haven't talked to Curt in years, but I'd say overall he made the server a lot more interesting, especially when the drama bombs went off and he more or less fled to the EQ2 Beta. :p
