Planet Calypso, formerly Entropia Universe, converts to CryEngine 2

They're a Swedish company. Marco usually does the PR but even he slips up with the English from time to time.

I'm inclined to believe it's actually David due to the whole ".-)" as that's usually in Mindark posts, but who knows.

Yeah, so they can abandon it just like they did with Neocron.

The Daily Grind: What do you want to see in a post-apocalyptic MMO?

Jan 16th 2009 8:39AM (Massively)
I want to see Neocron (the original, not the pile of steaming poo that is Neocron 2.2) fixed and moderized.

I have never spent so much time and dedication in a traditional MMO prior nor since.

New MMO announced from the Entropia Universe platform: Planet Calypso

Jan 9th 2009 5:16PM (Massively)
I actually prefer this style of gaming. I spend less month-to-month than I would with a subscription base. It wasn't always like that though, I'm fairly established in Entropia, but I still have the option of depositing if there is something I'm aching for, while staying within my monthly gaming budget.

Also, I'd like to expand on the story a bit. First Planet Company isn't creating a new MMO, they have taken over development of the MMO that is currently Entropia Universe. Mindark is pursuing the Entropia Universe Platform (as a complicated franchise basically) while First Planet will be developing Calypso and additional works it creates.

It's an exciting time to be a member of Entropia

MUD history dissolving into the waters of time

@ The Claw

I do agree with your comment about specialist wikis, it's my opinion that a "milestone" entry should be herald with a little bit of leniency.

MUD history dissolving into the waters of time

This is the primary problem with Wikipedia, especially moving further into the age of Internet.

Not everything can be or really even NEEDS to be sourced. Need a source for the information? Launch the game! It's as simple as that, really.

Wikipedia runs into this with many of their articles that reference video games. I'm not sure how much more of a source is needed than the game itself.

And when it comes to controversy, many video game controversies are sparked in forums, which are often not very reliable over time as they are usually fan driven and those that aren't see threads get archived after a period of time.

It's a failure on Wikipedia's end that I don't see the organization correcting any time soon.

It really pisses me off that TOR comes to light and now the Devs kick shit into high gear to finally give the community thing that have been requested since the NGE.
