Second Life 2.0 goes live today

Mar 31st 2010 2:56PM (Massively)
Interesting to see that the official download page for v2.0 states "It is spyware free."

Second Life's Nascera now nascent

Dec 16th 2009 8:55PM (Massively)
This is a good concept, overall, and I think it will have some success. Of the areas offered at this time, only the Elderglen (Fairies) area has any appeal. Some of the locations are really prime spaces and the builds are surprisingly good. I can see this becoming more of a community, too, as there are added benefits beyond housing, as I blogged for the Lucky Kitty Crew http://luckykittycrew.blogspot.com/2009/12/elderglen-freebies-from-lab.html

Second Life content creators warn about scam site

Oct 7th 2009 12:15PM (Massively)
Thanks for your diligent investigation, Tateru. We can always count on you. Only one item of mine was ripped from Xstreet, and not an expensive one at that. Translating from L$ to $ it would cost a shopper all of 12 cents and, allegedly, the loss of their credit card information. At Codebastard Redgrave's suggestion I edited the item on XStreetSL and appended

"The Exclusive Web Vendor for Pop Dept. store, Microstuff, and Poultry Co. merchandise is XStreetSL. Do not buy from any other Website. Many items available in-world. Uccello Poultry, CC Columbo, and Usra Ostrich are the Sole In-World Contacts."

to the description. Sadly, to do this with the six pages of merchandise I have is an arduous task I don't look forward to tackling. I miss the batch editing of OnRez.

New: Imprudence 1.2 beta viewer for Second Life

Sep 29th 2009 9:47AM (Massively)
I tried this new iteration last night having become too frustrated with some texture issues in the otherwise very good Snowglobe and I found Imprudence to be wonderful. The Minimap enhancements are a boon to anyone who needs to track other residents and the ability to change environment settings so easily is great for photography and role play. My one disappointment so far is that Imprudence doesn't like the underwear layers. Tattoos, t-shirts, panties, and other items can be worn but not taken off, merely replaced with another item on the same layer. These layers don't show in the Edit Appearance window, either. Of course, the viewer is a Beta. Gotta expect some fun. Overall, this is a great effort. Thanks to everyone involved.

Rezzable moves on from Second Life

Jul 7th 2009 11:18AM (Massively)
A Moldering Monday smoothly melds into a Terrible Tuesday with this news. The Rezzable builds are entertaining, inspiring, and unparalleled. And I've spent a fair bit of my treasure supporting them through purchasing Rezzable content. Needless to say I'm depressed but I also feel angry and abandoned. I was thinking of registering at Heritage Key so I could revisit the fabulous King Tut build but I'm not sure I wish to support the organization at this time.

But I do wish all the Rezzable people that I've met the best of luck. I will miss them the most.

Imprudence 1.1.0 for Second Life

Jun 7th 2009 12:56PM (Massively)
Thanks, Tateru, for the heads-up. The last Imprudence release was a boon to builders with the extensive customization and control options in the Edit pane, but even the inventory and pie menus are so much more useable.

Second Life traffic gaming: A chat with a bot-operator, and dire portents for Lucky Chairs

Jun 3rd 2009 2:28PM (Massively)
Anyone that thinks Lucky Chairs and their derivatives are camping devices clearly has not spent any significant time in Second LifeĀ® shopping or talking to retailers. As a resident involved in shopping groups for nearly three years, a merchant, and a blogger for two Lucky Chair-related groups (including on owned by the inventor of the Lucky Chair, Shep Korvin), I invite any Linden to contact me for a discussion.

Second Life adult content updates: Viewers, namechanges, grannies and grade-schoolers

Jun 2nd 2009 6:49PM (Massively)
" ... Likewise, sexually-oriented objects such as "sex beds" or poseballs may not be located or sold in PG regions."

Hence, I'm selling my land in Shouldice where I had a Sometimes Home.

Second Life users disturbed by Comsys personnel

May 25th 2009 7:04PM (Massively)
Forgot to add that the Tester accounts weren't officially announced, either, and many of the Performance bots got banned on properties until I had a talk with Prospero and relayed the info to others.

Second Life users disturbed by Comsys personnel

That is just too annoying. Since they aren't officially announced, maybe we should start ARing them for Impersonation.
