I haven't been able to get any further than character generation thanks to a video card meltdown (new one's already on the way, thankfully), but I can echo the sentiments about the UI. Absolutely atrocious and the bizarre software mouse doesn't help anything. I've got to gently bump it around, otherwise I completely overshoot what I'm trying to click on. I'll have to try it with a controller once I have the new card in.
On the plus side, character generation is quite good. There's ample options to play with and it lets you save the setup afterwards in case you decide on a better name thirty seconds later you start playing.
Interesting concept. Since it only affects Rare items or above, it seems to be aimed at folks that already have a significant time investment in the game. I'd like to know what exactly the "small" chance is, though.
Much obliged! I never had the opportunity to do anything beyond the first half of the tutorial back during the original trial a few months back. Maybe I'll stick around a bit this time.
This one definitely edges out the Halloween event in terms of accessibility. Your damage to Clarence scales, so as long as you have access to a travel power in order to reach him, you're able to contribute.
Chances are all you'll get for your trouble is a healing cookie, though. The real rewards (the steampunk bits, Clarence figure or regular action figure pieces) all require you to be at least in the top 50th percentile of damage-doers to have any real chance of dropping. If you're not built for raw DPS or haven't unlocked your hard hitting powers yet, you're pretty much boned.
Luckily, if history repeats, the steampunk pieces will be up in the C-store for all of us underpowered goobers by the end of the event.
The greatest weather effects that I have ever witnessed in a game were from Medievia, a MUD I played extensively in high school. Hurricanes? Sure. Tornados? You betcha. There's nothing like being in the middle of a trade caravan that runs afoul of a twister that launches your body across the map.
