Me plz.

There are a lot of people who do wonderful things with their UI but many seem to focus on one class or type of class. What happens when you play all the roles and most of the classes? You need an interface that can handle healing, dps, dps with a pet and tanking.

I’m a certified altaholic, they only class I haven’t gotten above 70 is a warrior, I need a UI than has all the info I need for every class without having a radically different layout for each.

I have this, well when it was Belkin and I can’t play WoW without it. I have the D pad set up to move forward and back and strafe left and right. Much better than using your fingers for WASD. The finger keys are used for my action bars and 3 of the the 4 keys on the left side of the mini keyboard are used for Alt, Shift, CTRL so that give me access to a lot of actionbar keys.

It also helps that you can use Bartender or similar addon to change the actionbars into the pattern of the N52. My mouse takes up any slack for anything else. The only time I use the keyboard is for an odd shortcut or typing in chat/auction house.

I see your point but I was thinking along the lines that there are enough things for a tank to worry about and manage and threat didn't really need to be one of them.

As the article says if you are a raiding MT you have the appropriate gear and probably out gear or are comparable to your DPS/Heals. So in that instance threat wasn't really much of a worry (also your dps knows what to do to minimize their pulling aggro) This change is going to help those who are undergeared or not as familiar by having one les thing they need to worry about while focusing on the mitigation, interupts and so forth.

If nothing else I may dust off my Paly and DK and try some tanking again.

I’ve played numerous dps classes and healer’s but never did much with tanking and part of that was to threat. The thing I see with tanking even if it’s only heroics is you need to know every boss fight for every instance. With a healer or dps you can fudge that somewhat and get by ok. As a healer you can be more or less reactive, watch the bars pop cooldowns when you see the big spikes of damage and can learn the fights as you hit the instance a few times. As dps you just follow the tank and attack his/her target and watch your threat (which is moot now, yay no more Omen taking up screen space). You don’t need to know where to go you just have to attack the right target and burn it down while not standing in the fire. You can even be under geared and it doesn’t matter as much as half the time someone in the PUG is over geared and just looking for valor/justice points.

For tanking you need to know where to go, where to stand, face the boss, what specials to interrupt, avoid, or mitigate for any instance that might pop up in the dungeon finder. That’s a lot of responsibility when it’s so much easier to play one of the other roles.

I've never bought a pet before but I'll be picking this one up tonight.

I’ve gotten so used to my Nostromo (belkin) that I can’t play WoW without it. Literally I couldn’t play for 3 days when my cat chewed through the usb cord (I’ve learned my lesson and now have a usb extension cable (had to get the N52 on ebay as this wasn’t out).

I wish they'd reconsider and bring over the S4 wagon.

Finally. Hopefully they will dramatically improve the quality of the nav/touchscreen at the same time as well.
