I'm just wondering if anyone has mentioned what engine(s) these MMOs are based on, or if they are building their own...

Actually, the first small step (pun intended) before work on the MMO started was the development, release and gathering of feedback on the previous NASA game Moonbase Alpha (which was covered by Massively). I worked on MBA and am working on AMMB and thank you for the coverage!

"So glad I didn't buy a lifetime sub for this game.. they didn't even make it two years..."

I did and don't regret it. I get gold membership and a few small bonuses. Plus the game is even more likely to be around in the long-term now. :)

Flameseeker Chronicles: Stop telling me how to get 50 points when I only have three

Even though I've played GW from the start, thanks to altism and playing PvP (and other games of course) I never completely finished any of the campaigns. Decided to reinstall and start prepping for GW2 and am having a blast, GW still holds up and is a lot of fun. EotN is pretty amazing. I was feeling overwhelmed about getting to 30 or 50 with just 3 points currently (LAME) but this article made me realize it isn't a big deal. I'll just keep playing and enjoying it, try and finish the campaigns and then worry about finishing up anything I missed along the way. THANKS!

The Daily Grind: What would your MMO dream job be?

@Larry It isn't all "wine & roses" but community management can be a lot of fun and very rewarding. You work with the rest of the team making the game a lot as well. Pretty much you get to work with everyone involved with the game as well as press and players.
