Apr 4th 2010 2:33AM (Massively)Probably not very. Most of the terms of service you find for virtual environments and MMOGs are likely to be torn apart in a courtroom. This one appears even less likely to win the favor of a judge or jury than is the norm due to its length, complexity, ambiguity and contradiction between documents.
Not that you should take my opinion on it, of course. That's something you should be talking to your attorney about ... which is the very core of the problem here."
IMHO, documents like this aren't written to be defensible, but rather to intimidate the customer who doesn't know any better.
If there is any hint of a controversy, make an appointment with an attorney to discuss it. Really.

Nov 20th 2009 10:25PM (Massively)If you are so knowledgeable about business, then you simply CANNOT be surprised that the reaction of vendors to the rate increases at Xstreet is to move their businesses to stores with lower overhead. Rather, it would look to you to be the obvious thing to do.
If you think instead that businesses should just stay put and take it, please explain why that makes any sense at all.
Linden Lab's Tom Hale announces Second Life support for media plug-ins
Aug 16th 2009 2:55PM (Massively)I tried to get QuickTime to play a stream using Ogg Vorbis that an SL club used, and I had to install XiphQT. I was never able to get the streaming to work, but with the plugin QT was able to play individual Vorbis files.
A quick Google search with 'site:apple.com ogg vorbis quicktime' didn't show anything that QT now supports Vorbis.
