GDC10: Pictures from the floor
- The Moscone Center
We've arrived at GDC10! Go us!
- Crashing into the DIRT
I get to take a peek at Shawn's driving, and it now makes me realize I never, ever want to get into a car with this man.
- Crafting from your iPhone: The Fallen Earth app
Dave Haydysch from Fallen Earth shows Shawn the new Fallen Earth iPhone app made in partnership with AFK Interactive. Shawn was very happy to be able to control his motorbike crafting from a far.
- The Crysis Booth
Crytek was showing off their CryEngine 3, and their bodyguard was a little... intimidating.
- The Virtual Hamster
Short Story: You're a hamster. Long Story: It's a ball that allows you to realistically run around while wearing virtual reality goggles, giving you the feeling you're actually running around in the game. Interesting, but you look like a hamster.
- Aerial View 1
- Aerial View 2
- Steve Wiebe!
So, apparently Mr. Steve has lost his Donkey Kong title yet again. A plastic surgeon in New York has swiped it from him. Can he reclaim the throne here at GDC?
- The GameBreakrs
The gentlemen from GameBreakr give a wave to the camera during their downtime.
- Nintendo's Booth
Not much to explain here. It's Nintendo -- they like everything simple.
- Daeva in the Sky
Aion is watching you conduct business.
- TERA's Booth
Just like the game, TERA's booth was very pretty.
- TERA Screenshot 1
Speaking of TERA...
- TERA Screenshot 2
...it's easy to see...
- TERA Screenshot 3
...that the game has nice graphics.
- King of the Daevas
Aion's Andrew "Tamat" Beegle poses for us by his game. Behold his grace and charm!
- Move Yourself
The PlayStation Move controller looks like an awesome piece of technology... or a pair of radioactive snocones. I tried to lick them, but PlayStation booted me from their booth.
- Nintendo's Booth, again
...still pretty simple, guys.
- AutoDesk's Cinematics
The gentlemen from AutoDesk were showing off what their tools were able to accomplish, and it was very nice.
- Frogster Interactive
Frogster, Runes of Magic, what more do we have to say?
- The Independent Games Festival
Here's a few of the entrants from the Independent Games Festival, including the very gorgeous and sparkly Igneous.
- Boldly Going...
If the Aion Daeva wasn't imposing enough, how's about a man with a phaser?
- Final Fantasy XIII
Lightning's subtle glances seemed to attract everyone's attention at the show.
- The PlayStation Booth
And, on your right, is PlayStation Home running on bad convention wi-fi.
- The AR Drone
Now this was something cool... It's a drone that you can control with your iPhone and play games with. So, now not only can you spy on your friends with a small aerial device, you can also dogfight virtual enemies.
- The NeuroSky Headset
This headset reads your brain waves, allowing you to participate in some games by only thinking. Yes, it works. Yes, it's also kinda scary.
- Lastly, nVidia's booth
What would a show be without a look at some awesome video card technology? Nothing, I say. Nothing.
