The Covenant, a 350-members-and-growing guild on the European Age of Conan server, Dagon, released this video to recruit members. Viewers be warned, this short clip contains some heavy violence, but that's to be expected in AoC. It also gives us a taste of how cinematic the game is shaping up to be. From the sweeping views to the heart-pumping gameplay, we predict that it's just a matter of time before the awesome machinima comes pouring in.

Davey Winder wants the world to know that virtual interactions are about more than just business. They're about contact with other humans, finding love, or seeking escape from a disability. While this video may not provide the answers that his book does, it highlights the interesting misconceptions that people may have.

When Davey was struck by a brain virus, he lost everything that meant something to him. Looking for solace, he discovered text-based online communities. He recently wrote a book, Being Virtual, that looks into the personal interactions centered around virtual worlds. In doing so, he answers a lot of questions that may come from having a virtual life, such as identity issues and embarrassment.

There's a new spy in town. 007KIN is kicking buttocks and taking names as he searches for answers. Personally, we think that a Moonkin makes a much more formidable opponent than James Bond could ever hope to be.

VoodooRay did a great job of inserting the World of Warcraft model-viewed character into the action. This isn't the first time he's Moonkin'd a movie, though. His classics include 300 Moonkins, Enter the Moonkin, and The Da Moonkin Code!

If Durast's goal with his upcoming machinima, Fate - The Story of Morgan Ladimore, is to tug at our heartstrings, it sounds like it may work. It's hard to tell from the teaser, but the story, which is based around a World of Warcraft questline, is quite gripping. It centers around a soldier, Morgan Ladimore, that believed he lost his family, and was driven to madness. After committing suicide, he was doomed to roam Raven Hill, forever suffering and eternally avenging.

MarkTwain White has released the first part of his three-part tour series of the SLRFL08 sims. The theme, Heroes, was put to good use. There were builds dealing with superheroes, ancient lore, and everything in between.

MarkTwain, the proprietor of the Holly Kai Golf Club, was able to capture the hard work and dedication that went into this event, which ran over the weekend for a full 24 hours. For those that missed it, the builds will be up until the end of today, at which point Linden Lab will reclaim the land. Go check them out before it's too late!

Galen Maly, better known as Yume in the World of Warcraft machinima world, has created some of the most popular exploration videos on his platform of choice. Arithmomania, a video backed with a Dogzilla soundtrack, is easily the most known, though, topping many favorites lists. It will not only get your heart pumping, it will inspire you with the different transitions and mass text effects, which he has made available. However, YouTube does not do this video justice. Over a year and a half ago, Moriash Moreau, then a team member of McDunnough's Relay Gang for the Second Life Relay for Life, created a contraption that would let him walk virtually using his real body. Channeling MacGyver, he used a treadmill, a butchered USB keyboard, and assorted spare parts to enable him to participate in a whole new way! He even outlined the steps from start to finish on his website. Set to music by Torley Linden, he documented his test journey using popular sims throughout the grid to make sure that his method worked properly. In the end, he walked a whopping 23 miles, or 84 kilometers in Second Life!

With SLRFL08 coming to a close, we'll have some interviews and statistics available to you soon, so stay tuned!

Legs, one of a handful of extremely talented female World of Warcraft machinimators, has been working hard on honing her craft. In the six months that she's been releasing machinima, half of her library of six films have been recommended on Warcraftmovies.com! Her latest, Silversun, is a whimsical adventure told from a child's point of view. Originally created to enter into Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational machinima contest, she discovered too late that they weren't allowing Swiss entries.

Earth Primbee, Cypress Rosewood, and the Gibson Guitar company created a video to let Second Life residents know that they're ready to rock. Tateru Nino recently wrote about Gibson's entry into the virtual world that will take place today on their island. While most companies are fleeing SL in droves, it seems as if Gibson didn't get the memo, as they roll out a 12-hour premiere and showcase their guitars. It's nice to see a company that doesn't get intimidated by a little negative backlash!

This is the tale of a machinimator and one of the most epic World of Warcraft machinimas made today. The Demise is a story of forbidden love that will bring tears to your eyes as you realize what happened. Created by Surgee, for Blizzard's Worldwide Invitational machinima contest, he painstakingly rendered it on his old machine.

Surgee silently vowed to himself that he would quit making machinima if he didn't win the top prize of a new computer. It was getting to be too difficult and time-consuming on his old one. Alas, the grand prize went to Olibith, for a movie about a woman's chest. However, The Demise will serve as a memory of the great contribution that he gave to WoW machinima!

Second Life's new user experience can be baffling, but the worst part happens after the resident gets used to the virtual world. When it comes time to create something, the templates required are tough to master. While many residents, including this blogger, hung up their Wacoms, Torley Linden has an instructional video that just might help us out!

Using ArtRage, a program that offers both free and paid versions, Torley shows us how to use the tools. Afterwards, he explains tracing and preparing the image for upload in SL. At almost 17 minutes, you're walked through every step of the process. Soon we'll all be clothing makers!

Most of the adult-owned educational islands on the Second Life Teen Grid are closed access for individual schools, but there are two that consistently engage the local residents. We frequently write about Global Kids, but Eye4You Alliance has done some pretty amazing activities themselves!

Eye4You recently held a craft fair in SL, where they awarded prizes for categories such as apparel, decorative items, and most colorful entry. For a grid with a peak concurrency of 500 in the Summer, they had a pretty good turnout! Check out the YouTube page for a complete list of winners.

Many machinimators feel inspired by movies they saw, or video games they played. Gnomechewer, the creator of The Pilgrim's Plight, found himself motivated by Fallout, a game that dates all the way back to 1997! In his World of Warcraft version of the old game's intro video, Blood Elves are enticed to live in Sunwell under the leadership of Kael'thas Sunstrider. However, the "new utopia" was more than they bargained for, and they sure paid the price!
